so i ordered a bumper off of ebay and this is the description directly from the page "Up for bid is an 05-06 subaru impreza front bumper with fog lights in EXCELLENT condition. The color is crystal grey matalic witch is a stock color. I bought the car brand new in the end of 05 and 6 months after buying the car i bought a full bodykit and it has been sitting in my garage since. good luck bidding. shipping is set at $120.00 or will allow for pick or work something out." there are 3 cell phone sized gouges that were very visibly covered up and the paint is smeared around them. its also cut in many numerous, easy to see spots for an intercooler. does the description from the ebay add sound like the actual one? i sure as **** dont think so. what does everyone think i should do. i already contacted him telling him that i want a large reimbursment and if he does not comply i'm going to contact ebay and paypal. any other options?
if the item you bought is not as described, you need to contact paypal. Contact paypal right now, don't wait even another day to do it, its not going to penalize him at all unless he doesn't comply.
ok i just filed a dispute and if he doesnt paypal me the 100 i would like to cover the damage im going to file it as a claim.
doesn't look too bad?!? Look at the description of the item above, "Excellent condition" NOT! You don't put that the item is in excellent condition when it has been cut, has scrapes, and gouges out of it!
If that wasnt the first clue... How about that paint code??? Is that even what they call it? That sux dude... You got hosed dude, you got hosed!
email he sent me.. thats fine the bumper is in good condition and there were plenty of pictures thats ur problem for not looking good enough u have been a horible buyer u asked me y ist it at my house after paypal just authorized ur payment a day before. u are lost get a clue. he had one picture posted.. i asked for mailing conformation 6 days after i sent payment..and there was only one picture hes such a tool ive turned it over to a claim on paypal.
Yeah. Misspelled words, poor grammar, and use of 05-06. I won't even mention that e-mail mentioned above. How about, FAIL. This guy's a tool.
whatch his feedback for his re-buttle.. and you can rebuttle his rebuttle... contact e-bay for fraud, and contact paypal for fraud. explain the defination of "excellent condition" listed on kellys blue book (if there is such a thing) you CAN file a fraud case to paypal for a "FULL" refund... and they would mor ethen likely grant it to you.. and he would be **** out of luck... but that would be slightly shady in the long run. inform him that it is also a crime to commit "theft by swindel" which is to sell snake oil. either way.. 2 months later.. end result = ebay will put one strike, and paypal wil refund your requested amount.. just remain more then professional and you will recieve your just deserts..
here's the item... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&viewitem=&item=250176553893
The picture in the sale post doesn't look like it's the same as the one at the top of this thread. That was a very creative angle to produce a shot (with bad lighting) that made the item look as good as possible.
welcome to ebay where if it is highly abused its in "excellent" condition. If its a remanufactured product that has use, its "new in box" If its "well used but fine" it will show up in a little pile of parts. I got a "new in box" palm pilot there years ago. It showed up with someone else's phone numbers in it and a big scratch on the screen and had a patina of scratches on the back.
yeah i sent him a comment stating that the picture was taken in a way that the damage could not be shown. thanks for all the replies guys. its re-asuring to know im not being retarded about this
"Excellent" condition means that the vehicle looks new, is in excellent mechanical condition and needs no reconditioning. This vehicle has never had any paint or body work and is free of rust. The vehicle has a clean title history and will pass a smog and safety inspection. The engine compartment is clean, with no fluid leaks and is free of any wear or visible defects. The vehicle also has complete and verifiable service records. Less than 5% of all used vehicles fall into this category. definition by Kelly Blue Book.
my understanding from his post is that the fog lights are in excellent condition.... qoute ebay seller "Up for bid is an 05-06 subaru impreza front bumper with fog lights in EXCELLENT condition. The color is crystal grey matalic witch is a stock color. I bought the car brand new in the end of 05 and 6 months after buying the car i bought a full bodykit and it has been sitting in my garage since. good luck bidding. shipping is set at $120.00 or will allow for pick or work something out." see guys.. that's the beauty of proper grammar... and you all complain when we correct ya'll hmmmm maybe thats what he meant... ha ha jackass either way
yeah kinda like the person that sold "playstation, 3 of them" when ps3 was not to be found in a store
i was thinking that as well but i looked into my english book and because he doesn't separate the two or provide a separate description the reader is to assume they are both in excellent condition.
It looks like he is saying "..subaru impreza front bumper with fog lights in EXCELLENT condition...." he would have had to say something about the bumper...what condition its in
If you plan to eBay a lot then you need to get an American Express card to use with PayPal. Horror stories abound regarding PayPal's shenanigans when it comes to credit in your account and letting a company that isn't FDIC insured access to your bank account is silly. I've had two auctions go bad and rather than wait for PayPal to maybe process my refund (minus the shipping of course) I just contacted Amex customer service about it and they refunded the money to my Amex account on the spot and then dealt with PayPal for me. You'd still have to deal with eBay and the feedback-hostage situation regarding the transaction but usually they're withdrawn completely. Let us know how your refund with PayPal goes though, I'm curious to see if they've changed their ways yet.
