So I've been here for a few weeks now. On Tuesday I will be picking up a nice shiny new 2015 STi in black. I have to thank Scott at Morries Minnetonka Subaru as this never would have happened without him getting me a great deal on my current 13 WRX and a 15 STi. Pics to come soon! For those of you looking, I recommend checking this dealership out.
Congrats!!! Scott has been hooking this community up for years, no doubt that if you are looking for a new (or used) Subaru, you should hit up Putnam at Morries! Mike, aka squiggly Clapper, can also hook you up if Scott is unavailable. Looking forward to pics!
Waiting is torture! Its nice because I can get all the items off my car that are coming with me, but its tough to wait knowing it will be there soon.
Congrats! Just a week into my sti ownership and I still cant get over how good the 2015 suspension is.
my only complaint so far is the trans tunnel being so wide right by the gas pedal. Its so wide and bulgy, that my gas foot gets fatigued a lot faster due to the tunnel pushing out my leg and my ankle needing to bend around it. Other than that, I still look back everyday when I park it. That's always a good sign for a ride.
Picked it up and it looks absolutely sick. Scott used the term Sinister, I definitely agree with that. Driving home in it I remembered why I loved the STi.
I first saw the 06 and hated that. I bought one a few years later, lol. I hated the 2015 STi when I first saw it, now I love it. I love the color. Haven't seen many black ones yet. Seen a few WRB WRX'S. Dealership was fantastic and went over my expectations.
I remember in 2007 having that sinking feeling when the 08 was introduced and cried myself to sleep, now whenever I stumble on a pic in my phone of my good ol' 2011 5dr that brings a tear to my eye too. These cars have never been about looks to me. People at my office hate my 2015 and say the hatch was better looking and even then they thought that was an ugly car.
So I have had the car over a week now. Best car I've ever had. I love driving it. There are two things I don't like though. #1. My phone doesn't automatically connect when Bluetooth is turned on. If I turn the car off I have to reconnect my phone. #2. The clutch seems very hard to get used to. Maybe my own fault for always switching SI Drive options. My 13' WRX had a very easy clutch to learn. This has been a bit challenging.
I thought the same thing with the XT, but you have to program the phone to the head unit. Follow the directions in your technology packet that is in the glove box manual. Then it should connect every time without any hassle.
Yeah....clutch is a bit temperamental, I find it acts differently almost daily, sometimes its real tight and grabby and otherdays it seems soft and easy....also it seems like the initial throttle responce is almost all cpu controlled as I find myself adjusting how hard I press on the pedal determined how the car wants to act daily as well.....ive thought about mentioning it to the dealership, but im sure id get the blank stare.
Agreed, it's like driving a different car every time I get in it, lol. I like the challenge though. Keeps me on my toes.
If your phone is a Samsung that is part of the problem, I use two phones one is a backup when the other is out of juice. When I am using my Galaxy S4 even when it's programmed correctly, I always get MUTE or NO DEVICE on the head unit until I press play on the track on my phone when I want to listen to music and then it kicks in. I never have an issue with the bluetooth when it comes to actual calls, just media listening. When I use my backup Nexus4 Google phone which is programmed as well as phone #2, I have zero issues with bluetooth both as media streaming and making calls. This behavior was exactly the same with my 2011 WRX. Must have something to do with the Samsung OS overlay that runs on top of Android...just my observation
My phone is paired to the car and connects automatically. Sometimes I have to turn the Bluetooth off and back on again to get it to work but most times it works the first time. My dealer set it up the second we got the car in. We used the center stack display menu but it was so many months ago I forget what was all involved. I would start there and ask the dealer if you have probs. They have had to do it so many times it only takes them a few minutes.
I have the exact same issue on my 2015 with regards to the clutch. I am glad I am not the only one that feels this way.
Maybe this is something that needs a bit of attention, since we are not alone....it speaks to a real thing. I wonder what coukd cause this?
I actually feel like this in my WRX too (about the clutch). Maybe it is something electronic with all 15's.
I have similar problems with mine. I can't get any one of my phones (Nexus 5, Droid Turbo) to connect through Bluetooth. So I gave up for the time being. It keeps saying connection rejected. I also have problems with smoothly getting going. At the stop lights, I am stumbling through 1-2 shifts. I am usually revving too hard to not stall and car just takes off surprising me. I have been driving stick for 16 years now. I keep telling myself that its a matter of getting used to the car.
If you had a phone setup for bluetooth in your previous car you will need to delete that pairing and redo it. I had the same issue with mine. If your phone doesn't automatically pair with the vehicle when you turn your bluetooth on you did it wrong. I had this problem for a few weeks before I figured it out. You have to go through your controls on the steering wheel to make it stick, otherwise it will be paired, but not to the head unit. I will be making a YouTube video soon on how to do it. Every person I have talked to that has a 15 STi has said the same thing. It's easy in Intelligent mode, but Sport, and Sport Sharp feel different every time I start the car.
