reason why hondas running turbo?

why is that...i've been seeing hondas turboing like crazy....just like today..was following fuji next thing i now i see a green civic...and wammo a big intercooler in front of his car....

 

cause their stuff is WAY cheaper to turbo.

I second that!... then again... there's the fake intercooler, turbo and BOV sound mechanism that I've seen and heard people adding it on to their car.

 

Many enthusiasts have been working on their cars over the winter. Many of them probably have saved up for turbo kits at that time and had them installed. Maybe at the end of the season, there will be less turbo'd cars because their motors are toasted. Who knows?

 

My friend just did this with his '93 auto civic. It angers me sooooo much}}! But now it's leaking oil into the exhaust

 

come to think of it..most of em cars are now turbo..few yrs ago...midway was...vrooooom....now it's vrooooom psh!

yea...man everyday i go driving with my car..peeps be looking like they never seen an asian drive rs before....lol..most of them look like they have turbo...like vic said..them intercooler-look-alike..lolz...i wanna try them though...

I don't know what to tell you... I don't think it's because you're Asian... They stare at you because you're an idiot driving a Subie. They were expecting you in a Honda instead. LOL j/k, NOT!!!

 

Like Kickin said ther are gonna be a lot less on the road by the end of summer. A couple of other reasons they'll be in the junk yard:
1) They would have spent all their money on "The Kits" turbo and otherwise that they would have no money for good brakes.
2) They're pretty rusty, I'm suprised they are still street legal!
3) The prolification of the useless big wings. Most of their cars are not fast enough to utilize "The Wing" (or designed for them). Well if they have enough NOS they might be able to end up on the moon!
4) Accidents, They might try to drive beyond their means aganist other real cars (lets say a Pinto with a ) behind the wheel) and end up in a bad situation.
5) The drive of their cars may be )'s.
6) They swap enough parts with each other cars that by the end of summer no one will know whose car is whose.
7) They swipe enough of each others car parts that some would have no car left. !
8) Their girlfriends take their cars. :X (Nuff said.)
9) Their parents want the family car back (El that is so wrong!). }
10) In a foot race with me I always race for titles... AND WIN! :mrgreen:

So that's why you're so picky with street racing... You only wait for the cute girls to run you so you can take them home when you win... or the other way around.

 

Iono, even though they go turbo, it still isn't reliable as a stock turbo'd engine. Anyways even with the turbos, I still think they cant beat a stock turbo car, sms.

 

Come on guys... let's not cry sour grape... let's cut them Honda kids some slack... they are pretty fast if they'er properly tuned and the owner knows what s/he's doing.

this is the thing with honda people. they think that a motor swap and a turbo kit is gonna make thier car go fast. yes its very tourqey. but it lags power. they dont think any thing into engine management.that is the key. so a mild built b16a motor with a drag III turbo kit in a cx hatch back that is correctly tuned will take out any sti, evo, m3, ect. its the power to wieght ratio. little lost traction at first but then your done for. and they arent made for freeway racing eigther.

 

Kong, at the track I didn't see many on street radials that ran in the 13's. And all the ones in the 13's were on drag slicks. (well, Chong's friend, Kuba, is an exception... CRX HF + two big nitrous bottles )

 

my cousin scott was an insane honda builer.
hr had a crazy ass turbo block built in his dorm room, but sold it and trying to sell his 87(?) civic.... he just got a 240sx from north dakota with 70K and no rust... he is going to do the setdt2g_00oo0o* swap....

*(whatever that bad ass pulsar engine is i forget the code..)

I know that there are alot of Monkey's out there that has really made HONDA look very BAD. I cannot speak for the other HONDA guys, alot of them are fools. I'm trying really hard to not take OFFENSE to the stupid things you guys are saying and have been trying to avoid repling to this topic from day one and saying anything that may offend you guys.

Just remember that when your making these remarks that I'm also a HONDA guy.

It depends on the people. Some will make their Honda looks really nice, some will look dull, some will have power, some will not. Chong has power and the other stuff along with skill. There's just a lot of unskilled drivers out there. Most people are for show and a little performance. Hondas have a huge aftermarket support, which is why most buy Hondas. Could be had for a good price, and can be hooked up to look nice. Only a few really use it up to it's protential.

heh, I only drive a Wagon, but what I can do with it is another story.

 

for every 10 civics you see with the dumb taillights, spinners and tint dark enough to weld through, there is one kid that has spend 2 years and 12 grand turning his mom's old civic into a true master piece...

 

lol..but yea...true...but like vic said..aint i suppose to drive a honda not a subaru...man if i did could of got cheap insurance...
