Does it really matter besides the divorced wastegate or no? I guess most people have 3in DP so any brand doesnt matter right? Plus my stock exhaust is pretty much a straight pipe so no point of changing the damn thing

Divoriced its usually just to give a little more pre-boost torque. Really no need in a 2.5. You can if you want, the turbo sound a little louder with divoriced.

so you must have a different stock exhaust than everyone else. Its hardly a straight pipe in flow characteristics.

As for the divorced wastegate, meh. I've had both (bellmouth and divorced) and I'm not convinced there is really any advantage. looks cooler though, but one problem can come with some pipes the block off plate for the wastegate gasses doesn't sit correctly flush and may interfere with the wastegate or keep the pipe from being able to be fully bolted down without trimming.

divorced wastegate is supposed to reduce post turbo turbulance. it is supposed to be better than a bellmouth. quite frankly i havent heard anyone say they have noticed a difference.

I ran a Helix 3" bellmouth and it worked just like it was supposed to. when you get into brands you start looking at quality. my helix pipe has immaculate welds on it, and was worth what i paid for it. IMO bellmouth works A-OK.

I havent heard anything bad about cobb. so i would assume that it would be a quality piece. i am not sure about price but cobb might be kinda spendy.

cobb> most over priced piece of stainless out there. some parts you can go cheaper on and some some parts you can not. downpipes are one of the items you can go cheaper on.

Their cast stainless bellmouth is damn close to pure sex. The only thing better would be APS's cast iron divided bellmouth, but you have to buy their whole exhaust to get it.

I'd say you might want to do some reading before you start in on this, if you think your stock exhaust is a straight pipe you've got some research ahead of you. A 3 in DP to a full 2.5in exhaust isn't going to net you as much as a full 3in TBE. There is plenty of information out there on this, try Unabombers Manifesto on Nasioc. It's a sticky in the Newbies and FAQ forum.

So is the Cobb DP a direct bolt onto the stock exhaust?

I have a pde dp with a mechanical cel light fix already on the DP itself. If you don't have any form of EM this is the way to go, but I'v got cobb ap so it doesn't matter. If it wasn't installed by the previous owner I would have went with a 4 inch turbo xs DP, it one big mofo!

mainly you're paying to have a cast bellmouth section on the cobb, which you can't get on anything else (besides the hard to find APS one). The reason why thats an improvement is it shares the same metal characteristics as the hotside of the turbo its bolted to, meaning it will expand and contract at the same rate and heat at generally the same rate.

why do you want this? It fits better over time is basically all i can think of. looks cool as **** too. Its definitely the last DP you'll ever have to buy the build quality is a 10/10 compared to anything else on the market. Basically if you want the best thing out there its what to get, but its not like a DP that costs $200 less is going to perform any worse though.

Cobb uses a stock donut style gasket, will bolt onto your crappy flowing stock exhaust. Thats like putting syrup on poop and calling it a pancake though.
