LSE Performance, a member of ours, is willing to give us a discount on any Redline oil/lube products. I use this product and i think its great. Typically subaru owners have favored the Lightweight Shockproof and the Regular 75w90ns gear oils. We are not sure about the exact discount, but LSE has stated that if enough ppl sign up, the discount will be "plenty" I know its about time for a tranny and diff lube change for you all. Group Buy ends January 27, so get in while you can. 1. what type of time frame are we on for this group buy. I would like to change mine out asap. If soon I will go for 5 quarts of the 75w-90ns.
We are moving the 30th, so honestly we can extend it till then. I'll place my stocking order say the 5th of Feburary. With the "discount" I get discounts on a per case. Shipping is the killer, so the more I can get in 1 shipment, the cheaper it is. I like to see customers switch out fluids, so if there is enough interest from this club, I'll order enough to cover the usual mitsu stuff (mt-90 and mtl) and there will be a HUGE discount compared to that $9/quart we are currently charging.
Please count me in for 5quarts of 5w30. I already put 75W90NS in my gearbox and 75W90 in my diff about 4500 miles ago, so I'm not ready for those again yet. Do we need to pick it up from you, or will you factor in shipping ? Thanks, Stuart.
Note that Subaru does not recommend GL-4 gear oil (at least on recent models).... granted people tend to mix their own brews, but you will not see much demand for MT-90 or MTL. EDIT: I may have misinterpreted your sentence.....
dont have my manual off hand for how much i need but looking for enough to change my diff and tranny fluid's on a 93 legacy ss (if anyone knows off hand what i need). my email is [email protected]
Pricing is shipped to our facility. I hate telling someone a price, and then adding shipping and tax. All of our pricing is always plus tax.
It really depends. The killer is freight. I am trying to at least swing a 10% discount (I know its only $.90 cents a bottle). I am waiting for a freight quote (which I will not know until the "group buy" is done). Summit is what? $7.95? Last time I checked, they are a bit larger. Plus you'd pay shipping on that 7.95.
Suggestion: Could someone post what Redline Gear product models are suggested for MT and AT for Subaru's and any other makes that others are interested in. Hopefully this will help answer some questions. And if its not too much trouble a quick FAQ: 1. Like would it be a good idea to change your gear oil on a car that has less than 5000 miles? 2. Who or where can we do a cool gear flush and Fill day? 3. How are we doing the payment?
well as for the payment this time i think it will be a little different. typically we have one person pay for it all then you pay that person back, however, this time its a local vendor so we could either stop by and pay or just call and use a credit card. i think that would be the easiest way.
this is the second time in the past 3 months there has been a group buy immediately after I had just bought the product (hella g.b. and this one) so I don't need anything, thank you very much! :?
As far as I can tell on what my STi needs, put me down for the following: 5 quarts of 75W90 NS gear oil for the transaxle (added an extra quart) 1 quart of 75W90 gear oil for the rear differential 1 bottle of SI-1 Complete Fuel System Cleaner 1 bottle of WaterWetter If I got something wrong, let me know and I'll change it.
maybe you should just buy some for future use. the stuff really doesnt get old...and you're going to need it at some point.
i have never used this and would like to consider using it for my full driveline...those that know the redline stuff, would someone recommend me a fluid type for each part of the driveline? Need more details on which fluid differs from the other and how they handle in certain conditions.
Correct, as I saw this posted somewhere else. Redline is saying that it can cause "chatter" in a LSD setup and the friction modifier should be added to prevent the diff from losing its "lockup" capibilities. I do not require advance payment for this group buy, but people coming as soon as they can when it comes in makes life easier on our end. We have no reason not to trust the local Subaru community, I am assuming everyone's word is good here . Krees23-That is the "package" that redline suggests for the WRX. The STi's require an extra quart of 75w90NS for the trans. http://www.redlineoil.com/ for more info.
ok, i've read through the different gear oils......the synthetic looks good, but the shock proof ones all stated its not good for trannies with snycros? so does that mean this would be better for the rear diff? then for the tranny/front diff, go with the synthetic?
10 quarts of 75W90 NS gear oil for the transaxle 2 quart of 75W90 gear oil for the rear differential 3 bottle of WaterWetter
02' WRX This is what I need. *4 quarts of 75W90 NS gear oil for the transaxle, *1 quart of 75W90 gear oil for the rear differential, *1 bottle of WaterWetter for the radiator, *1 bottle of SI-1 Complete Fuel System Cleaner. Just let me know how much when you can. THANKS!!!
I think it would be worth a trip out to pick the stuff up and check out the new digs at the same time. Stuart.
Pricing-I'll know once I place my order. I'll post it up as soon as I know. Shipping? I can ship it to you, but why not stop by? It will be cheaper than the powerpacks, because I am ordering full case quanities. Thank you all for the interest.
LSE, I am going to be leaving for Asia on the 1st of Feb. I will be gone through the 25th, is there any way we can settle after that? I live in Savage and it is a pain in the butt to get up there just for this (read: $8 in gas alone) so I don't think I will be able to sneak up there before the 1st. If you would prefer, I can pay via paypal and have someone pick it up for me or have it wait until I return. Let me know....
So is the shockproof superlight better for the tranny or the 75w90ns? 02 WRX btw. Cause I'll take 4 of the better. 1 75w90 read dif. 1 water wetter 1 SI-1 fuel system cleaner
Don't use Shockproof exclusively in your tranny....there are several people that use it as a component in their "concoctions", but it is not intended to be used 'straight-up'. The 75w90NS is your best option if you don't have a special recipe....
So, should I get say, 3 75w90ns and 1 Shockproof for my tranny? I guess i'm assuming all 75w90NS since that seems to be what everyone else is doing.
I suggest going to NASIOC and search for the gear oil threads as there is a lot of info and many suggestions on what special blends people were using. I personally have used the RL 75w90NS in my RS up until the last change in which I got a good deal on Motul. I used RL 75w90NS in the STi last time and I noticed that my 5th gear was crunching a little, but I have no conclusive evidence that it is the oil, yet. YMMV
4 quarts of 75W90 NS gear oil for the transaxle, tranny 1 quart of 75W90 gear oil for the rear differential 1 bottle of WaterWetter for the radiator 1 bottle of SI-1 Complete Fuel System Cleaner **what's the different to shockproof and regular? I'm living MN on 27th, is there anyhow that I can paid it after when I'm coming back from Iowa?
Put me down for: 2 qts Heavyweight Shockproof 2 qts 75W90NS 1 qt 75W90 1 bottle of SI-1 Fuel System Cleaner
