    Hey all,

I'm interested in putting in a remote start in my 02 WRX. Does anyone have good recommendations on brands/installers?
    Would like some decent range.
    Leaning towards viper.

Is this problematical with turning on/off twice as much?

    Thanks!

I've had one aftermarket remote starter. Dealer Automotive Services (DAS) in Hopkins installed it. Only issue we ever had with it was the hood detection pin switch failed due to corrosion - easy and cheap fix. Brand was Astro Start.

I have an OE Subaru one in mine. Works really well. Probably not the best range out there like some of the app based ones, but I haven't had any problems.

I would most definitely pop for one with two-way communication so you know if the sled started or not. Neither of the OE ones in our Ford or Infiniti let you know if it started. Pathetic.

Just got mine done yesterday in my taco.
    tc autospot in richfield
    $449 + taxes installed.
got compustar g15 prime 3000ft range and works with the app so range isnt an issue.
free month with the app and a few bucks a month after.

Is your tacoma Manual? I'm curious if there are ones that will recognize when the car is in gear and wont start. I'm going to have to retrain my brain to leave it in neutral....

I've heard good things about http://www.remotestartmn.com/ . They have youtube videos detailing their installs on subarus. Swore I'd get a remote start last winter and this year I'll probably do it...

OE Subaru one doesn't either. Their site says 400 feet, but I wouldn't count on that.

I work at a dealership and I do accessory sales. Pm me and I can get you pricing's, We offer Viper, Compustar and Auto Start. I have the Viper 5706v myself, It's a nice one but Compustar isn't bad either.

We used http://www.remotestartmn.com/ for our Toyota (with a Viper two-way unit) and were very happy. The '19 Forester that replaced it has remote start via Starlink and a phone app, which is really nice.
