I got a new phone in May I think it was...and just about 10 min ago, the screen decided to **** out on me. It was working this morning and all I've done was sit at my desk...so it's not like I dropped it or anything. My question is...will I be able to get a new phone if I didn't buy the warranty thing? I have a feeling T-Mobil is going to be really gay about this and make me call a lot of people :(

    Yes I've tried restarting it
Yes I've tried taking the battery out

t-mobile is very gay, but if you just bought it and have the receipt, I think you should be able to argue it till they get tired enough and give in..

most likely t-mobile will be "gay", but!!! none the less, there is an automatic 1 year warrenty i believe. Worst case scenario, you'd have to pay for the replacement fee. Because you just got it, you still have a "good standing." hope that helped

You should have a 1 year warranty from the manufacturer. Bad news is thought that you'll need to send in your phone and if you don't have a warranty through t-mobile you won't get a replacement phone while yours is being sent in.

Usually there is a 30 day return policy through the store. If your over that and you dont have the insurance, I dont see why they should give you a new phone.

Well, from what I've gathered...there is a 1 yr warranty through manufacturer of the phone. If the phone malfunctions on it's own, then it will be replaced. The thing that I forsee going wrong is that T-Mobile will accuse me of breaking it...then it's my word against theirs which won't get me too far :(

Well, if there isnt a huge crack or scratch on the screen I dont see why they would deny you. Good luck either way...

p.s. This is why I pay the extra $4 per month on my phone's, they seem to bust a lot.

This is the first time I've had a phone break on me :(

And no, there isn't a huge crack on the screen or anything...so hopefully I should be fine. It's just frustrating since I could've gone this entire summer with no cell phone, but just recently I started sending my resume out looking for a new job...so now I need it!!!!

If they have em in stock they will give you one on the spot, but instead of asking ehre why not just go/call Tmobile and ask?

yea if its in stock otherwise they mail you one out best would be to call customer service and explain on the phone and have them ship you then you don't have to worry about them looking at it and trying to blame you. may I ask what phone? I have been with t mobile for over 4 years and have received many new phones due to mechanical error.

Because I'm at work...I'll be going to T-Mobile in about an hour when I get off. Plus I hate calling phone companies because I'm on hold forever, then transferred around to about everyone in the company...

Plus I thought we may have a T-Mobile employee or former employee on here.

I'll take my chances at the store...I need a phone that works asap.

If that doesn't work, then I'll just call them.

In the past when I use Im-Mobile it was possible to buy a "prepaid" phone and swap the SIM card into it, and presto, new phone. They may have done something to deny that now though.

I just did exactly that with my wife's Verizon phone. Picked up a $30 Inpulse (Verizon's pre-paid) phone to replace her dead RAZR, entered the EID online, and away we went. Same phone bought as a direct replacement from Verizon was $100...

Well, didn't get a new phone. They said it was my fault...so I took it to World of Wireless and they said alot of people with the same phone have been coming in with the same problem, but apparently it's too new of a phone to order parts for?

Now I'm rockin' my gf's old phone :)

I'm gonna try customer service this weekend. It's not a huge priority now that I actually have a working phone.

Apparently the LCD screen broke...I have no idea how, but it did. Since it wasn't a "malfunction" it's not covered under the manufacturers warranty.

My old T-mo Sidekick phone died in a similar fashion. I picked up a rental at the t-mobile store in Roseville after dealing with customer service, and they sent me a new one. The screen was all jacked up. Nobody warranties the screen...but since it's not due to breakage or mistreatment, you should be able to get a new one.

The Roseville store is the one I went to too. I read online that If I do call customer service and have them send me a new phone, then send in my damaged one...I risk being billed for the second phone if they deem my first one to be damaged by me!!!

This sucks...I'm stuck with a ****ty phone. My gf's bro is gonna let me use his old one too, which is better than my gf's old one. At least I have a few choices :)
