get a tri hull, you'll need more than 100 hp to have fun. my parents had a dual hull, it was parked in front of my house in Redwing, so I used it the most. It was a 23 foot Bennington, great boat a lot of fun but it needed a little more power we had a 80 hp 4-stroke Yamaha the other thing was privacy, it had none, but canopies suck to put on when your on the water with no dock, the snaps all work from the out side. it could have used more storage for life vest, you need one fore ever person on the boat, but they don't have to be wearing it it just need to be next to you. even with the 80 hp 4 stroke it was a good time!!! a tri hull with more cross bars holding the hulls together and a 120 hp would be the hot ticket. the other thing would be to buy a pontoon and then put a v-8 in at mid ship with a jet drive......that would be fun!!
yeha I am leaning towards the Premier PTX in any from and the salesman has been qouting it all with a 250 yamaha... should move along
The question is - what do you want to use it for? Cruising or "performance", the latter a bit of an oxymoron with 'toons? I've owned a few boats and if I were to buy another it would be a used, late model Party Barge or equivalent. Unless you're a dedicated wakeboarder or skier that relies on a specific wake-type a good-sized 'toon with big engine will be your friend. If you won't be pulling tubes, boarders or skiers you can downsize the powerplant for cost and fuel economy and put more into the creature comforts on the boat like AV/BBQ/crapper/etc. Nothing better, to me, than cruising and anchoring off in a quiet bay for swimming/fishing/chilling/bro'ing out.
yeah but with the newer ones you can do all that.. thing is you can add the PTX package to ANY of their range.. even their luxury....
Our's is a 25 foot with a 215hp on it and we can ski and tube behind it no problem. A 250 should haul!!!
thought about a deck boat? seems like a lot of the same stuff with the performance too? I'm sure you have, just throught I'd throw it out there.
