I was bored and just goofing around the other night so I figured I'd throw a replay from RBR onto google video and post it up here. It was one of my faster runs and I crashed a few times (like 6 or 7  ). Don't be distracted by the crash starting out, I was just getting familiar with the car http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-5538570291951508483
You gotta get familiar with the car This game is crazy crazy difficult, ask anyone that's played it, I think that run was a personal best and I probably play the game at least 45 minutes a day.
I have the album that the BG music is on, heh. Didn't expect to hear that. That game looks cool, just one more reason to buy an xbox!
It can't be as tough as GT4's rally circuits. It's unlike any rally sim I've ever played, even previous GT-series rally events. I think they overdid it a little on GT4. I heard RBR was along the lines of Colin McRae and WRC but with better graphics for the Xbox. I loved those two games. Don't think I'd get an Xbox just for RBR and Gotham though. Be fun to get a new rally title though, I owned all the courses on WRC. What are the codriver commands like in RBR?
The difference between GT4 and RBR is the damage and loss of time if you go off. You can ride the walls in GT4 and get a great time, if you try to drive too fast in RBR you'll get the worst time ever. The physics are also a lot better in RBR. I'm not a huge fan of the commands, it's sort of, easy left, fast right, stuff like that. Although it's nice because it gives you commands 2-3 turns ahead so you can link turns quicker and usually won't get a late call. I'll post up some of stuff you see while you're driving so you know what it's like, but google video takes forever to validate or whatever it's called so it will be a while until I do  bastages  I used a shorter stage so it would be smaller and I also shrunk it with pinnacle studio. Here's what it looks like while you're racing, and I also put down the best time for the stage, 1'18.4. If you've raced the stage before you'll know it was a good one (with some flaws ). http://media.putfile.com/Richard-Burns-Rally-Incar
it's WAAAYYYYY tougher than GT4! I can beat pretty much any special conditions race in GT4 without much difficulty.....I can barely make it through one course on RBR. it's mostly because I'm not used to the codriver commands....but still....holy crap
Complex string is GT3, isn't it? I don't think they kept that course for GT4. Too bad, I loved that hilly curve section.
I'll give it to GT4 and the GT series for being a better road course game, but I really find that the most realistic rally game I've ever played has to be rbr. I just wanted to share it with all you guys that have never played it. Any time you ever get a chance to give it a go, do it, you won't regret it
I don't know if it's sold in the US, I know you can get it for your cpu, but I don't know about the US Xbox.
do you have a controller? wheel? I think that would be the expensive part for me, or get used to driving with the keyboard....or a joystick uke:
I have the momo race wheel and pedals.. It's the only way the game is playable on the PC. I would have to think the physics were "dumbed down" a little for the XBox in order to be able to play with a controller.. but I haven't tried it on the XBox yet.. The vid posted from the XBox looked pretty good.
I want to get this game for my xbox, but so far no luck finding it. As far as controllers, I found an xbox wheel (MadCatz MC2) at GameStop for $20. You can easily modify the cable to use a regular USB connector and there are drivers for Windows. I have mine setup so I can use it on both my xbox and pc. The best games I've found for the wheel so far are Forza and the ice racing events in RalliSport Challenge 2. Most other games just don't work quite right with a wheel (toca3, for example...) Joel
