Right on mang! Just wondering if there really are high numbers of this specific type of situation. Yes, the billboards everywhere are ftl. I saw some people protesting in Duluth a couple of years ago against "patial birth abortions". Needless to say, their signs were extremely graphic. Pictures were blown up and in full color...made mah tummy queeeee-z!
For me it's less a numbers thing than a situation in which I couldn't fault the woman whatsoever for making the choice not to give birth after conception. But to answer your question, I have no idea what the numbers are like on aborted rape babies. Also, that sarah silvermen episode was dead on.

Yes, that is the problem with abortion. It should be a last resort, but too many people are using it because they just want to. Honestly, I don't think there are as many abortions performed as we are making it out to seem. If, say, there are 2000 in MN in any given year, then you have to look at how many females there are in the state. In the end, if you use these statistics on a nationwide scale, it works out to a rather small percentage of abortions performed vs people carrying to term.
In all seriousness I have to agree 100% here. It should be a viable option, but shouldn't be used as a first line of defense against pregnancy. So many people seem to feel like it gives them an excuse to be stupid and not use protection. A very close friend of mine back in FL got pregnant and the father moved out of state. No, i'm not joking. I'm not sure if that was the reason he moved or not, but nonetheless he did. The girl was a total wreck. I ended up loaning her the $600 to have an abortion and bringing her to the clinic. Aside from having the child be mine, it's about as close to this that any guy can get. I'd have to say that was one of if not the hardest day(s) of my life, and it wasn't even my child. I firmly believe that in this instance it was the right decision for numerous reasons that I'm not going to get into here. But after being there, seeing what the decision put her through, seeing what the procedure put her through, the physical and emotional pain, I don't understand how people can make it out like deciding what to have for breakfast. It's a major decision, with major consequences. And in no way is it a black and white issue like so many try to make it out to be. And I'll start listening more closely when all the picketers, etc... start adopting. We already have to many children and not enough families. What good is adding more to the long list? Put your money where your mouth is and adopt a child or two. Then you might actually be doing something toward reducing or ending abortion. and now back to your regularly scheduled OT nonsense....
(edit) and to clarify, adoption was an option. a very real one that was seriously discussed and considered. Her final decision was that it was just not the best option. She'd been using Percocet recreationaly and drinking heavily for the first while of the pregnancy. (A very rough patch of her life. She's since gotten things back together) She didn't find out she was preggo until she started getting sick. I should add that up until this point she was an avid pro-lifer. It made the decision that much harder. As a friend I would have supported whatever decision she'd made. But it goes to show that you never really know until you are put in the position yourself.
