Well as much as I hate to start another thread on ringlands... I have had the following symptoms for a week or two, been burning 1 qt of oil in 2500 miles, rough idle, white smoke out of oil cap. Compression test completed tonight revealed 145/60/142/145. (psi) I have been working with Nuke at NF and have been compiling a build list over the past week. I'm going with the Rallispec street short block, reusing most other stock components other than the following: -ARP Head-studs -Exedy STG1-HD clutch -OEM Gaskets -Crawford AOS -Timing belt/tensioner/water pump Looking forward to building a dependable DD. Anyone have any advice for the build? FYI. I was running COBB STG2 91 octane map, with Invida catless DP, and Perrin Quad-tip exhaust for 20k+ miles, at the time these symptoms started.
Sucks (going through the same thing, 34,000 on mine) but looks like it will be way better when all done!
59k on the current block. I'll be looking to get rid of it after the build so I'm sure we can work something out.
After talking with Nuke and spending the last two weeks reading up on engine building, I may have updated my build list a bit: Added Items: Grimmspeed up-pipe w/ Tial 38mm EWG 1000cc Injectors DW65c fuel pump Hybrid Boost Control Setup (Grimmspeed MBC and EBC) Damn this stuff adds up quick... $$$ Tear down will be done this weekend. Majority of bolt on's are already pulled. Found standing oil in my intercooler/piping. Cleaned them out with Degreaser and let dry for a few days. Decided to go with new radiator hoses as well.
