RIP. He'll definitely be missed. Regardless of your feelings about his acting, he was a genuine car enthusiast and a genuinely good person. He absolutely had a hand in getting me in to cars... at 15 years old, what's cooler than seeing that first Fast and Furious movie? While the appeal of gaudy body kits, spoilers and silly graphics have worn off, the draw towards fast cars coupled with good friends never goes away. I hope he hit a 300 shot of nitrous straight through the pearly gates. 40 is too young...
In_Car_Nation will be hosting the first annual cruise in remembrance on 12/8 at the AutoMotorPlex(Cars and Coffee). https://www.facebook.com/events/177673355765171/
Im sure Im going to catch hell but oh well. I dont understand why there is a crusie dedicated to Paul Walker. It isnt like he designed cars, made cars, engineered cars etc.... All he did was act in movies that had cars. If Kevin Costner dies does that mean we are going to have a baseball game in memory of him? I mean he did play a baseball player in a movie
What gets me is that he was on his way to a charity event to benefit the victims of typhoon haiyan (sp?) . Seemed like a good dude overall, but what is even more sad is to think that the person that was riding with him won't receive any publicity compared to what walker is getting. RIP to both of them.
Fuzz: They were leaving a charity event held by ROWW, which is Paul's charity that provides disaster relief around the world. Second, Paul was a passenger in the car. The driver was the owner of Always Evolving, a shop that worked on many of Paul's vehicles. Vinnie: He wasn't just an actor. He started a worldwide charity, and competed in many different circuits of auto racing (yes, actually raced real race cars), was the technical adviser for most of the fast and the furious movies (and tried as well as he could to keep things at least semi-realistic...tried), was a genuine car enthusiast and owned many crazy cars, and oh, had a 15 year old daughter. Oh, and before anyone starts commenting about a driver who didn't know what he was doing, Roger Rodas (the driver) was an experienced Porsche cup racer.
Thought I should share a leaked scene from the Fast & Furious 7 that makes his death ironic. Roman Pierce: "No more funerals Brian" Brian O'Connor : " Just one more funeral" http://www.mirror.co.uk/tv/tv-news/paul-walker-dead-live-reaction-2871282 Roger the driver was parking the Porsche in the bay when Paul Walker asked him if they would ride in the Porsche since Paul hadn't ridden in it for a long time. And they crashed approximately 6 blocks from their destination - the charity event where Paul Walker's daughter was waiting for the dad to arrive. Then the sad part is Roger's 8 year old son attempting to rescue the dad as he jumped over the fence after the seeing the car on fire....But there is stipulation that the Porsche had a power steering problem that led to losing control of the car. I still think they driving over 100mph for such an impact that led the chassis to split into 2
