This morning I was driving along 394W in my little Subaru wagon and needed to exit onto 494 south. Traffic on 494 was suprisingly clear and running about the speed limit of 60mph. Even though the lights on the ramp were blinking yellow, a line of maybe 6 cars in front of me were going through the light at 30mph. ! So I slow down to about 5mph and let a big gap in front of me, once the gap was big enough, I floored it and merged smoothly into the left lane of 494 doing about 85mph blowing by all the dumb slow mergers and with my foot off the throttle as I approach traffic ahead and slow back down to near the legal speed. LOL, apparently some little white guy (maybe 5'7-5'10), mid 20s, brn. gelled hair wearing a white sweater and a black leather jacket takes exception to this and probably does 90mph in his mid 1990s gold/light beige Isuzu Trooper with no front plate to catch up to me. By now we are solidly in traffic moving along about 60mph. He's got no place to pass except the left shoulder and he's too wimpy to do that so he rides my bumper and swirves left and right in his lane, demonstrating to me how much body roll he has . Eventually by the time we get to Hwy 7 he manages to cut off a car in the right lane and get alongside me. While next to me, he's yelling something and flipping me the bird while swirving and trying to force me off the road so he can get in front. At this time, I'm thinking "go ahead, I'm in a 2005 Subaru, one of the safer cars on the road, I have gap insurance, and I could use a new Subaru after doing 10k miles on it already. Plus I'm carrying a piece in the glovebox. But anyway, he has no balls to actually ram my car and traffic in his lane is slowing down so he resumes following me again. This continues to Eden Prairie where 494 goes from 2 lanes to 3 lanes. I switch to the far right lane (fastest) and ride it till right before the 169 exit. Merge left, merge to far left. He's still following me. So I stay in that lane maybe 200ft. with traffic flowing at about 15mph, go under the 169 bridge, then merge right 2 lanes onto the 169 ramp and drive on that for about 1/2 mile before I merge back. This time he can't manage to follow me and I'm long gone. } Since graduating highschool I've lived in some of the a$$ ends of the country like S. Chicago, Washington DC, and lower east side Manhattan. I think people in MN just don't have the respect in their head that they could get capped* if they tried that crap on the wrong person. As rage'n pissed as I've been at ppl on the road... never felt like shooting them [xx(] I usually drive the KIA between 80 and 90 mph. Ppl get angry being passed by a KIA. Lots of ppl think they are cops and try to slow me down; I just back off the throttle and wait for an opening. Some try to catch up but 90% of them wuss out at 80 mph. Others get rage'n pissed; just last week some numb nuts tried to run me off the road becuase he felt I should yeild; even though he was in the mergeing lane and he should yield. Crusing down HWY 55 in Eagan about a mile before the HWY 13 intersection. I'm behind a big blue buick who's behind a white RAV 4. Left lane was a big F250 super duty and 3 other cars infront of him. The blue buick is riding the RAV's bumper; obviously he wants to pass right? The RAV 4 merges over to the left and I think "awsome this guy is gonna floor it!" well he doesnt; he actually lets off the gas:???: We are flying through the 55/13 intersection now and only 1/4 mile before the lanes merge down to one lane. Seeing the F250 and everyone in that lane rapidly passing the blue buick, I signal, lateral movment, and pass the blue buick. Now I'm a full car length ahead of him... but the whole left lane slows down. Now we are parallel; Gold KIA and Blue Buick. Lanes are merging and time is running out. Buick speeds up and is now trying to muscle inbetween me and F250 but I hold my ground. So here we are now I'm half on the shoulder, he's half on the shoulder, and the driver of the F250 is shaking his head The Buick driver starts reving and backing off while swerving at me. Kinda scary; his car has about 2000 lbs on mine Steady I was and held position. Now he swerves closer, and closer still... I'm amazed we didnt trade paint honestly; I couldnt see his door handles we were so close. Now I get a clever idea } I back off just enough from the F250 that he thinks he's gonna get infront of me. Staying half on the shoulder however. Buick thinks he's got his spot now and starts backing off of the F250... I drop that Rio into 3rd and floor it; easily passing the Buick and I'm now infront of him and fully in the lane :mrgreen: Oh man was this guy pissed! I look in my rear view and see his mouth wording variouse incantations while his fist was in the air shaking at my general direction. Once on the bridge I get back upto crusing speed of 90 mph and that was the end of that little escapade. I hope he didnt want to shoot me
Some peoples kids!! I remember in college one of the guys in my house was a cop. He was off duty driving back some where and some knob decides to cut into the off lane that he was on. Last minute deal or something, almost caused an accident. He honks does the brights. The knob then slams the brakes and starts screwing with him. He follows the car now calls police about the assclown in front and it turns out the assclown has a buddy or two in the car behind them. That knob gets into it with my friend by riding his tail has his high beams on. My friend being a cop has his gun on him at all times. He pulls that out and waves it in the rear view mirror, he said he never saw a car hit the brakes so hard!! At the end the guy in front got nailed by the cops for a bunch of stuff.
The guy was swirving his truck like he wanted to ram my car. If he's going to use his vehicle as a weapon like that on the highway I'm going to defend myself for fear of my life.

morgan that was a very intersting story. i like the part where you slam 3rd in the KIA. i think it may have been a different story if you were in the MonsterWagon. you coulda ran over that biuck.
not really rage related, but it still ticks me off. today i was comign home from school. cruisign down 169 south doing like 65-70 in the left lane. anywho i see the giant messae board ont eh over pass is on. a rare occasion. i read it. it says accident by plymouth road. left lane closed. so i am like. hmmmm theres an acident int eh left lane i had better change lanes. and i do so. getting closer to plymouth i see that people are getting fed up witht eh right lane and shoot ahead in the left. saw a couple of people not watchign the road, and changing lanes, just cause. anyway when we get to plymouth road the left lane stops cuase there was a cube van that hit a maxima or somethign similar. so everyoen in the left lane tries to merge AT ONCE to the right. forcing peopel that already merged in to slow down and let in these stupid peoples. GGGRRR.... although i have heard a funny story from a friend in a similar situation. he was in a beat up pickup truck. going down 394 east to minneapolis. some jerk in a beamer was trying to sneak in where it drops to 2 lanes. so he openned up his dorr so the beamer couldnt get in fromt of him. he left the beamer STOPPED on teh side of the road waiting for a spot

The BMW driver doesn't know how to merge. I drive that portion of 394 as well. There are 3 lanes, I'm going to drive on the fastest lane and merge at the last minute because my time is valuable. It's not my f.ing fault the people who designed the highways in the metro area are morons.
