As some of you have heard, I got back from a road trip from California just recently. The trip one-way was ~36 hours with an average speed of 70 mph and includes gas and restaurant breaks. I had 4 other passengers and ~200 lbs. of stuff in the hatch.

My Forester XT did it's job very well and didn't show any signs of weakness or hesitating... up until I got into Colorado. Once I got into closer to 10,000 ft altitude in the mountains, my car lacked acceleration and only boosted to 8 psi. V8s (and even an Outback) passed me like cake. I ended up maintaining the speed of traffic, but I took advantage of all the downhill slopes. :D I was the fastest! Hehehe!!!

By the way, the Colorado mountains was, again, a pleasure to cruise through. This time, the drive was in the noontime. It was just amazing! :) Oh, and Vegas, too. :p

Well that was a lot of cargo you had, so I wouldn't feel too bad about getting passed. Poor little turbo in the altitude...hehe.

I suppose the TD04 turbo couldn't move the same air it does at lower altitude, so it just spun and spun. What can the Sti turbo do? :p

I80 all the way to California is actually 5 hours longer. All the traveling software we've used showed that the Vegas route was the shortest route. Only if Vegas could've been cooler than 108 degrees at 10 PM, our stop at 'Jack in Da Box' would have been a little more comfortable. LOL! :)

Cocoa commercials? I have always wanted to be famous! :p

The 35% tint really helped us from getting ourselves sunburned. ...as much as it did keeping some truckers with road rage from seeing who we were before we made off into the distance. :p
