Hopefully those that want to go on April 9th should get their winter projects done. I'm looking forward for a day of tire-shredding and tranny teeth pulling.
who is planning to go? if we have enough people let try to plan something out. i would like to go too.
ME!!!! my ride is slow, so i'm just gonna borrow fong's when i get there. he just doesnt know it yet.
^^You gotta get me when I'm most vulnerable. I suspect opening day will be packed, and the temperature to be around the mid 60's. Let's get a BBQ or something together. At least that way we can sorta reserve our spot.
not all of us need to be as fast as Joe Gangsta... you know consistency will win in a proper sanctioned / handicapped 1/4 race over the fastest time as that takes more skill to punch the same numbers over and over then it does to hit the nitrous and hold on...
i'll be ready and be there! with food and all. plus i'm bringing NOS! the energy drink and not the spray. i dont have skills so i rather just push a button. yeah! you gonna bring your ride out there nathan?
would love too... this is why I want to build my RX7.. get around 600hp at the wheels and drive it all day long.. but that is maybe 5-10 uears away at this rate..ha ha the wife is a HUGE NO to the racing thing... but who knows.. I would drive more sane on the strip then I do normally he he... we will see.. no hand raising here
In case you guys didn't know about the rule changes, looks like some of you will be buying stylish new jackets. http://www.mnsportcompacts.net/forum/showthread.php?t=26695
^^pity. I'm gonna blame these new rules on the dumbasses that can't race in a straight line or tune their car right. It was because of them that the rest of the 99.99% drag racers have to pay for it. But what do I care? I drive an OEM turbocharged grocery-getter.
I was there and I only had 3 functioning rims(not racing tho). Altho we don't need to talk about the OTHER time I went to rock falls.
^^you just had to go there again, didn't you? Somehow, drag racing somehow gets me all excited and ****.
I had to go there again cuz I didn't race the first time. Remember the awesome cracked rim I was driving around on for a while after the incident with t3h curbz0rz?
if i only run 16s with my swap i'll sell my car, because that would mean i didnt improve at all...i ran 16s last year
I'll be there, and I won't be used to my car becuase everything is basically goin to be new, so times might be iffy. Just to clarify I read the sportcompact thread right, if your car is slower than 10seconds, you need a jacket and gloves if your firewall isnt OEM? How do you even modify a firewall to be thinner?
The rule change isn't actually a change. They are enforcing the 135mph rule more strictly. In years past the rules usually stated 9.99 or 135mph, but people only looked at the ET. With all the high power import's being produced, NHRA and the NHRA tracks were forced to pay attention to the trap speeds of the imports. We are looking forward to this upcoming racing season. We have joined up with Rockfalls Raceway and are now a lane sponser.
damn, i need to go, but I start a new jerb on wed, so requesting a sunday off may be out of the question for a while, we'll see....
It would be cool if we could meet up and do a small BBQ before we take off in the Suby caravan to RR.
