Noooo, I have to get two root canals done, in like a half hour. I hate the dentist, They like to hurt me. I'm scared.
Awww, you poor thing. I had 7 teeth extracted when I was 12. They had to break one into little pieces with a pair of dental pliers because it wouldn't come out. It isn't like you wont be sedated or recieve some sort of anesthetic for this procedure. Root canals are easy business, you barely feel a thing...and it only aches for a couple days.
Yikes 7, owee. Yeah they arent that bad, I had one done like two years ago. The relief of the pain from my tooth far surpased any pain from RC.
not really...if u let the bad tooth stay, yes it hurts as hell, but if u getting it done by the dentist....u'll beglad that u did it.....i recently got my root canal done....and i fell no pain whatsoever
Yeah, it's pretty harmless these days. Dentistry isn't as barbaric as it used to be. My last root canal was tame.
Also, be glad all your teeth fit in your mouth. I had to have 4 permanent teeth removed (hence the 7 teeth extraction day) because my mouth is too small for 28 teeth.
Pre or Post correction? Meaning, did they 'fix' it yet, or are you still in the boat? So far, I have had to have 11 teeth removed by a dentist. When they removed the wisdom teeth in the Navy, they looked at my dental record, saw that I had 7 teeth removed when i was 12, and then signed me up for the intervenous sedation. Which I might add, is pretty damn great.
I had it all done around age 13-14 and then had braces after that. My fang teeth came out in front of the other ones so they pulled a few and brought everything back to straight. My jaw is too narrow for all 32 perm teeth. So I'm left with 28.
Just got back, not to bad. I had very little pain, and they did two molors. It was very spendy though. I had to pay 534.80. Without my insurance it was gonna be 1271.70
Psh, I had 7 teeth pulled, one transplanted (yes, transplanted...they took a bottom tooth and put it up top hoping it would take root). Then I had braces to move my teeth around to fit in an implant. Since the implant was going where there was no tooth before, the bone had depleted so I had to get a bone graft from my chin (this was done while taking my wisdom teeth out). I'm finally done and every dentist I go to looks in my mouth and is like wtf, then have to study my chart and ask me a bunch of questions. beat that!
I had a tooth trying to grow out of the roof of my mouth about a quarter inch behind my actual rows of teeth. Enough retainers and braces later and you can't even tell.
pshhhh 7... lol try 13 yes I have had 13 teeth pulled, 2 root canals, 1 surgery to prevent me from loosing a tooth because my root was infected, 2 double jaw surgeries (would go into detail but I wanna keep everyone's lunches down), one chin implant, braces 3 times, retainers up the wazoo, lots of cavities, 8 teeth bonded, had my gum's slit to remove some so I showed less when I smiled, and much much more that I don't feel like typing lol. total in count I have like 6 different mouth doctors.
not from the rumors I heard  I have had 4 root canals... fell asleep during them all... ha ha Had a tooth removed back in Australia... 2.5hrs to extract 1 tooth.. he was putting so much exertion on the tooth that he said he moved my teeth either side about a 1/2 a tooth width each way and had 6 stitches... and he told me not to do anything strenuous for 2 days.. went off-roading the next day to pull my brother out of a mud-hole on the beach, (almost fainted driving there as I bled so much over night that I used a box of tissues soaking up the blood and was vomiting blood for a couple of hours that morning that I had swallowed)... I then got on a plane the next day for a 3 day conference... never took 1 pain med after the first day due to thinning the blood and the bitch wouldnt stop bleeding ha ha root canal... meh
lol there perfect now!!!!! I was just born with poor teeth.. you would never know now. I luvs my teeth.
I can't the number of teeth out...but war stories, i have... I have had braces 4 times, removed them myself the last time ; had my wisdom teeth removed by a hockey player. I have had both jaws broken and moved around by the same hockey player, had 3 subsequent surgeries to remove the plates and screws because my body was rejecting them. Had TMJ treatment by 4 different doctors, finally getting some relief...though I still have headaches... Oh, and to top it all, I decided to become a dentist! Now, I do all of the terrible things you all talk about, except for the jaw surgery stuff. Root Canals don't hurt me at all. Extraction, sometimes make my wrist sore, depends on how stubborn the patient is (usually directly propotional to how difficult the extraction is going to be) Amazingly, the most pain I have ever had as a dentist came from a patient with severe dementia who grabbed my hand (while drying his tooth) and pulled, twisted and ended up tearing a ligament. Now that hurts! Oh, yeah, I have also had my jaw broken by my hard headed black lab! She hit me in the jaw with her head and cracked it. I treated myself...Antibiotics and Ibuprofen and soft diet.
