I have a TD04L off a 2002 Subaru WRX. I just made a custom manifold for my car but I need to rotate the housing portion of the turbo so the oil inlet is facing up, currently it is facing down. I need to 180 this before I install it. Does anybody have any suggestions on the best way to do this?

You could send it off to Deadbolt and have them modify the inlet.

OK i'm by no means a subaru guru or turbo "know it all" but from my extreamly limited experience and engineering background there is a strap around the middle of the tubro that holds the compressor housing to the turbine housing you should be able to loosent he nut and bolt that holds that strap tight and simply rotate the two housings in reference to each other. As far as i know this should not cause any problems as the only thing really connecting the two halves of the turbo is the shaft between compressor and turbine. Hopefully bikerboy or someone who knows more than I will weigh in here shortly and either back me up on this or tell me i don't know my a$$ from my elbow haha. Hope this helps some what

Yup your correct but some turbos are different. There are a half a dozen bolts or so on the compressor housing. You need to remove them all. Then the cover has A bead of Silicone you will need to break free. Then you can move the comp. cover, this is called clocking. BE CAREFULL removing the cover you do not want it to hit the impeller
