Rush For The North Road Rally

    Sorry for getting this up with short notice, but better late than never.

    340 mi road rally from mankato mn, to grand marais mn. If you are interested please call me @ 651-500-9976 to confirm your entry. The details are as follows

    Everyone will be meeting at the mankato super wal-mart on madison ave at 1:30pm on Saturday the rally will start at 2pm. There is a 25$ entry fee per car due upon arrival in which 10$ of everyones fee will be donated to the Minnesota State Patrol Trooper's Association. And yes there will be a prize for the time closest to the target time. The finish times will be decided from the time on your receipt from the holiday gas station in grand marais. All electronic assistants are allowed for this rally..gps..laptop..etc. If you are caught disobeying any traffic laws you will be disqualified. If you have any questions feel free to call or msg me. Full rules will be handed out upon departure.

    I am assuming this is happening this weekend? I can almost guarentee I'll be donating more than $10 to the MN SPTA if I participate. LOL Sounds almost like a Cannon Ball Rally Race. Sounds like fun, thnx for posting it.

    Cool event. however I bet you just scared away 90% of the people on here since they need to get gas at holiday to finish. (even though i think holiday is the only gas station in grand marias)

    no, because the drivers won't know what that time is until after you finish

    ok so ill mapquest the distance to get the exact time.

    You could get there early enough to wait, if you don't get disqualified in the process;). It all depends on your strategy.

    MN SPTA has gotten enough of my money already =) Sounds like a good time though.

    Apologies for being a little vague. What will get you disqualified is a legal citation for breaking a traffic law.

    I'm quite surprised to see so many people so unfamiliar with the road rally.

    it's not a 'race' as in first to get there wins. they calculate what a reasonable time would be, and after everyone's finished, give a prize to the person closest to that.

    it's not a competitive race, just a cool way to hangout and go for a drive for a 'good' cause. winning is pretty much just chance (although, if you get stuck in traffic/construction you'll have a pretty small chance of winning, so you'll want to plan your course).

    well i will be in lutsen on saterday painting my car, so i may try and head to gm around your expected arival time and meet up with u guys if i get the chance.
