so I just found out that my kitty we got for my mom, after her puppy died, has feline herpes in the cats eye...

this is incurable, and to the point where if goes untreated 2ce daily.. can get so bad the eye will ... well I don't want to go there.

    none the less...
please keep "shirly" in your prayers
and that my baby girl "puddles" doesn't catch it.

    thanks guys.

OMG that's terrible .. poor kitties. Make sure you take care of them ... they'll hate it but it's better than having to deal with them losing an eye.

WTF how do cats get herpes? that's something I haven't heard before :(

    she was born with it...
apperently it just started to surface and we got it really early, but none the less...
it can cause the eye to rupture, blindness, tons of not cute things.

A friend has a cat with it too. Now as soon as the eye starts developing problems, he grabs the cat and slathers it with some ointment, which deals with it pretty quickly. His other cat is fine and it's been that way for years. So it seems like a big deal now, but in a little while, it'll probably seem a lot less so.

Better than another person I know who has a cat that needed an enema no more than every 3 days or it's digestive tract would detonate. Cat literally couldn't take a crap by itself. Finally had surgery to remove the large intestine, which apparently means a month or two of explosive diarrhea...
