I have a somewhat failing saltwater tank and I am looking to sell a couple fish they are still in good health. I tried to start a 6 gallon saltwater set up and it is proving to be more difficult than I could have imagined compared to a larger set up. So I have:

Yasha goby pair along with a candy striped pistol shrimp (I managed to get them to all live together) which should make sense if you deal with saltwater fish.

Fire Shrimp - he is actually getting pretty big.

I have a couple Acan corals, a whisker coral and a couple polyps, turbo snails, hermit crabs.

There is also about 6lbs of live rock that has a very healthy brittle star population as well.

Asking $125 for the yasha gobys, the pistol shrimp and the fire shrimp.
$50 for the live rock, snails, crabs
    $10 bucks for each coral.

Let me know if you have questions thanks.

All of that inside a 6 gallon tank? I think I know why you were having issues.

lol, Ya it has been running for just under 2 years actually so it actually went really well for a long time. It's in a fluval edge so the problem is cleaning has been tough because the top is about wide enough to get your fist into it. The tank has a full saltwater conversion it was just never made to handle saltwater and now I would rather dump money into the subie instead so there is that. But keeping the levels from spiking in 4 1/2 gallons of dispersed saltwater is a full time job and frankly I just don't want to do it anymore. :)

That's my point. Small community large tanks are MUCH easier to take care of. Large tanks in general are easier to take care of.

Absolutely. Whether salt or freshwater. People are usually confused by this concept... The easiest tank I have ever had to maintain was my 155 gal bow front. FYI, I am an avid hobbyist of fish, frogs, toads and turtles. I'm currently building an all natural 70 gal extra high hex (two 35gal hex tanks stacked, the top one without a bottom and a custom front swinging door) for my Indonesian Whites tree frogs.

I considering dabbling in freshwater fish again. I miss my gang rape mollies. Seriously, they would pile up in the corner of the tank and just breed till it hurt. I couldn't sell them to the local fish stores fast enough. I used the proceeds of my first sale to buy another biowheel filter for the 30 gallon tank to support the mass of fish that were living in there. The biggest biowheels they had at the time. Two of those, plus weekly tank cleanings, and it was still SO much work. Granted, in the 30 gallon, there were probably between 50 and 100 black and dalmatian mollies at any given time. Sometimes more depending on my work week and how soon I could get to the fish shop to sell off another bucket of them.

Mollies. Cute. ;) I am a freshwater guy myself. I've always thought saltwater fish are overrated. Too expensive and while pretty to look at, kinda boring to watch. I am a cichlid guy myself. Currently keep African cichlids but my favorite aquarium fish is the Nicaraguan cichlid...

I love the personality and breeding habits of cichlids... not to mention the colors. Bio-wheels are good, but canister filters are better. Sump tanks are best. I like to build my own sump systems... yes, I'm a little geeky. If you need anything to get back into the hobby let me know. All together I have around 25-30 tanks and a whole mess of filters, heaters, etc etc etc...

I like the simplicity of livebearers. They are pretty rugged, they are interactive like cichlids in that they are aware of you and other things outside the tank and are relatively unconcerned about humans,.and their needs are relatively low. Ideally, I'd like a 55 gallon tank, well established and balanced. I never got into it for it to be a full time hobby. Mainly due to my lack of free time.

My brother set up my 55 gal. cichlid tank for me and it was super low maintenence with the Fluval 404. They are alot of fun to watch. And you are a busy fellah, fellah!

OP, good luck with sale! 5th, maybe you should start up a saltwater with some of this stuff in one of your bigger tanks?;)

Time... I honestly have way too many damn hobbies (passions). Lol. 55 wld be good, but if you were to step up to a 75 it would give you like an extra 6" of depth under the cabinet to build a nice sump. ;) Its amazing how cheap a DIY sump can actually be... I usually build mine outta rubbermaid. Way more efficient filtration and it actually adds to your tank size. Example... 75 gal tank + 15 gal in the sump, now you have a 90 gal tank.

Here are a couple pics of the tank itself, the lights that I swapped in are two 50/50 bulbs and two blue led strips, had to rebuild the whole hood but I still have the original light arm for this tank if anyone wanted to use it as a freshwater setup. And I managed a pic a while back of the yasha's in the hole their pistol shrimp made for all of them, they are pretty fun to all watch ultra paranoid but fun to watch. Sorry the pics are so huge. tank.jpg IMAG0368.jpg IMAG0372 (2).jpg

Like I said this tank has been running for quite a while, this is probably the 5th or 6th saltwater set up I have started in the past 10 years and I just wanted to try a micro coral tank with some livestock. The set up works well I just don't want to spend the time testing water constantly and being a mad scientist, we went on a ten day vacation recently and I have been fighting with this little tank ever since. If anyone is interested in any of it shoot me an offer, thanks.
