That picture makes me cringe. I got the Holiday unlimited wash pass and instead of stopping to use the gas station window squeegee on them I just wash the whole thing.
psssh....try parking it outside. my cars look pretty nasty. it's been too cold to wash this year. I don't know about the XT6, but the lock cylinders on the loyale don't seal.
my main reason for temporarily parking in the garage was to get all the snow out of my wheel wells. that picture is the back two wheel wells only. it was sitting on the ground for about 2 hours in 50 degree weather so i would imagine alot of snow melt going on. after i cleared all 4 wheel wells i shoveled close to 100-150 lbs (seriously) of snow/slush/salty mush out of my garage. it was the heaviest snow ive shoveled in a long time.
:laugh::laugh: i hear ya, my baby is a 365er outside too. it was only inside for a bit and for a purpose. but i can imagine all the salt and ish you guys use in duluth to get those hills less slick, yuck.
We shouldn't even use salt on the roads. When they put it down when it is snowing, it makes the roads more slick. Otherwise, it is killing our streams and wetlands. We only really got serious with the salt in the last 30 years. Obviously Cargill wants us to use lots of salt, as they are the main supplier and have really really deep pockets. Maybe the tire companies should lobby for no road salt?
this is what the FrankenWagon looked like when I put it away. it's only seen ~10miles since then: I should take a daylight pic of the XT6 before I wash it this week. the wheels (bronze) and body (silver) look the same color right now. I don't have access to a garage at all.....
Whatever it is, it doesn't eat their cars. As far as effects to surface and groundwater, they probably haven't studied it.
Took this yesterday when I drove up to Duluth -- this is somewhere on the Skyline Pkwy. A testament to the salty Duluth roads...
