What: MNSOC Spring Event. BBQ - Show n' Shine

When: Saturday May 22nd Starting @ Noon
Food should follow shortly after, depending on the crowd... but Will is thinking around 1pm to kick off the grilling.
The show-n-shine times are TBD. Once we have a good idea of prizes, who is signing up, and crowd size I will post more.

What is this event?????

This is a way for MNSOC to say thanks to all the members. As well people can come out and have a good time. Meet some people on the forums, eat some food, enter your car for prizes and more. What else could you do????? Check out the updates below.

We are looking for volunteers/judges to help out. If you are interested please shoot Ofspunk7 a PM.

It is due to this membership fee that we are able to provide things like food, prizes, event locations, funds to MNSubaru for the website, event insurance.... etc! If you are not a member this year then we ask that you contribute $10 to help pay for the costs of putting on these events. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to post in this thread, or PM me or any of the other MNSOC officers.

Show~N~Shine update: It was decided last night that we will switch up the way the show and shine will work. Everyone who comes to the event will vote on 3 cars. It will be your peers that decide who wins the Show-N-Shine.

The officers feel that it would be a much better idea to lower the entrance fee for non-members. I think that is a great idea! So still free for members and non-members can contribute $10 to help pay for food etc.

Still looking for categories for the Show-n-Shine.... the more ideas the better. It was suggested that people can enter their car under 2 or 3 categories. So throw those ideas out there and we will get them going on the list.

Bumps! This is gonna be fricken awesome! Prizes, food, nice cars, and a full-on rally car (or maybe 2??) to check out! Can't beat the price! Post up if you're coming so we can get a general headcount for the amount of food we need to get.

This is a sleeper look...but under the hood it is not stock. so it will surprise you when it takes off in just a flash. usually deleting the hood scoop and wings makes it not look fast.

 

but u can see different wheels and a front mount and its loward which tells me it have some work on to it which makes it in my mind a clean badass car

 

Nope, unfortunately not able to actually attend this one due to previous commitments, but you can just call myself and Derek the Wizards of Oz, working furiously behind the scenes to kick-off the first event on the right foot!

As for the car classes, we'll be putting up a poll here within the next two days to let everyone discuss and decide what categories to have! I'm currently working with some vendors as well to get some nice prizes for the winners and maybe even some door prizes.

I would say a sleeper would be even more low profile. I agree with Dan, that is a very clean car. Not a sleeper. A sleeper would be a totally stock looking car that is not totally stock.... just an example. So please throw those ideas out there and we will start a poll.

 

It depends about the point of view you're taking when you look at this to decide if it's a sleeper. To an average person or a person who knows a little but not a lot about subarus, this is a family sedan with rims, to most people on this forum, who know subarus, know that it's dropped, has a fmic, body kitted, wingless, with nice fat rubber and know that there's probably a little bit more than stock under the hood.

So you need to declare, if a sleeper is a stock looking wrx/sti with only engine mods or an impreza that looks like a family sedan with lots o power.

You are the second person to say that, maybe the meet after LAX will be a sunday meet. Or you can always PM me if you would like to work something out earlier. I am always open to new ideas.

 

As of now I have nothing going on so I will probably show up (me+1). I will have my wheels powder coated and a few cosmetic things done by then.
