Hey guys.. sorry about the outages over the last couple of days.. I was trying to milk along the old server till I found a new one.. The hardware was old and worn out and failing miserably (either motherboard or processor) Well, last night we got a server donated to us! Say "hello!" We should now be stable! :-D

I come across lots of Xeons so I can keep an eye out for some if you want. What board is it? Onboard SCSI or host adapter? Looks like an onboard SCA backplane. Hot-swappable SCSI then? You can get loads of SCA SCSI devices on eBay for CHEAP. You should be running RAID 1 on those drives if at all possible. Also get a UPS for it and your cable modem so power hiccups don't cause it to go down. Yeah, I know, it all costs $$$ [xx(] My dual 1900 machine will soon be running back-up to my dual 3.06 Xeon machine. I'd offer to run it as a mirror if I were able to get broadband out here in the sticks. Depending on how much use for it I have once the new system is up and running it may find itself being "donated" or sold

I had to leave some stuff on the old drive as it went rom 40GB to 9B :-o. Would keep my old server, cable modem, and router up for 3 hours before dying.. I have a 10K rpm Ultra 160 HD just sitting here. It has a back plane connector so I can't use it in my machine. If it would work with your setup I'd give it to ya. But you would have to let me make sure it is wiped clean.

Yes, it would get wiped clean. Thanks! -Jordan

I can get two Coppermine P3s @600 MHz with HSF for $35 each shipped. There are also a few 18GB SCA SCSI drives for $50 each. I bet if you bought two CPUs and three SCSI drives he may sell for $200. Just a heads-up on some equipment I saw for sale. He also has some nice IBM Ultrastar 36GB drives, but they're 68-pin LVD. I also have a free 9GB Seagate Ultra2 (50-pin) SCSI drive that I pulled from work if you need it. It can come with an external bay for it if you have an external 50-pin connector. It's just sitting there doing nothing. Let me know... This is my current project: http://www.4wheelracing.com/media/dh800/ Now I just need some processors for it
