Friday bump, last day to save $5 on the registration fee, 13 people registered already, just need 2 more to confirm the event!
Did you guys still need staff/volunteers for this one? I'd love to be racing but that probably won't be happening for a little while yet, so I'm happy to help out if you need it.
How long is the track and how many times do we run? Im just looking for how much fuel I might need. Im assuming a tankful will be sufficient but I cant just go to a gas station and refill.
One tank will be fine you'll probably use more fuel getting there and getting home then racing. Normally the track is about 1min or so maybe less and we get about 4 to 6 run sets in with 2 runs per set.
Sooo...is anyone looking for a codriver? My car situation is in cahoots, so I may hop into somecar's car for a co-drive. I can help with expenses too....let me know!
mom, grandma, grandma's boyfriend, uncle uncle's girlfriend, sister, her boyfriend, other sister, her boyfriend, 3YO niece, 1YO nephew, along with me and the wife would make attending difficult.
I see you're camped in my neck of the woods this weekend! You were parked about 2 blocks from my house this morning Mike
lol did you see a blown out trailer tire too? Glad I have a dual axle. Im at my brothers house doing a baja engine swap. Wouldnt have a 2.5 tucked away would you or a new clutch kit? Came down early to try and get the new motor sorted out before Sunday. Its not going well, most junkyards get the motor running then ask for ungodly amounts before checking anything else. I have to drive around to each one checking timing belts, ect, today.
Let's see who's registered. Subaru, Subaru, Mazda, Ford Raptor... This should be interesting! Less than 2 hours left to register before you have to pay the extra $10 at the event! SCCA-Racing.com/gorallycross
Welp we have to bail again. The car has sat for a month and in that time has developed a bad alternator. The o2 sensor also has the car acting up and it wont idle or held revs once warm. It drives fine when full throttle but cruising or idling is impossible. Mike
Sorry to hear. We'll look forward to seeing you guys at the next event. Welcome to come to the planning meeting as well for next year, happening sometime this winter.
Is there any way to check our fastest lap times? Also was great fun, had a blast even though I was more of a plow truck at the hairpin haha. Loved how they had it for the last runs. See you guys out there next year.
IIRA said that they will have ice Time Trial (not wheel to wheel) that can be done in uncaged cars. Only rubber to ice and those teeny carbide street studded tires are allowed (in different classes), though. No Marcel spikes or home studded tires without a cage. Booooo. The lap times on the event are posted on the facebook page, but keep in mind that the course got shorter and shorter as the day went on as the hairpin kept moving up and there was definitely a sweet spot of fast where the course broke in before it got rutted in.
I thought they had a wheel to wheel class for un-caged cars last year, as long as they were not awd. Thanks for the info, I'll keep an eye out for an updated rulebook.
