The gf's birthday is coming up in late June and she's always wanted to go skydiving, but never pulled the trigger. I would love to try it myself so I thought it would be a great birthday gift/outing.

With that being said, I know nothing about skydiving. At this point all I've figured out is that we'd be best suited doing tandem dives. Beyond that, does anyone have any recommendations of where to to go? Looks like a tandem dive is typically about $200? Is that typical? Anything else I should know that a first timer wouldn't be privy to?

snwbdr94 (Brian) skydives a lot. Try sending him a PM. He would be a great person to talk to about this.

I went for the first time last summer with my mom! (she is the other chute that shows up)
We sat down watched a short video, go strapped up, flew to jumping height and jumped/fell/pushed out the door. It was a small outfit that set up jumps for our small town summer celebration. We jumped out right above my parents house, and landed in a cemetery. (I now, kinda creepy)
It was a blast and would definitely jump again. The aren't kidding when they say the first step is the hardest

You could pm istoptofly... he isn't on here much, but jumps out of planes quite often.
