I just bought a 02 WRX a few months ago and been dying to upgrade. I've been looking at the scoobysport exhaust system, and was wondering if anyone here had one, if so would you recamend buying one?

    http://www.scoobysport.com/

also the car never came with a boost guage, all others I've seen have one. Is it a diffrent model or did the other guy take it off.

Last question. this pry sounds stupid but, is there any way to get the stock BOV to hisss like an after market one. or should I just wait till I upgrade enough till I need one, then buy it.

    1. i think there are a few members with the ss exhaust
    2. lots of cars come with out a boost gauge...its just an option
    3. take off the recirc hose(bigger of 2 hoses) and plug it. however i'm not recommeding this.

Mostly all exhausts made for your car are compatible with the Boxer engine. You'll love the sound. Like you, some people buy the Scoobysport for it's quiet rumble. My Bosal exhaust is a bit audible, but isn't too loud and doesn't drone much on the freeway.

A boost gauge could be installed, but you gotta know what your doing. I'm glad mine came with one.

A member here tried driving for a day with the recirculation valve disconnected. He loved the sound, but hated the way the car drove after. I'd recommend taking off the silencer and trying that out before going to an aftermarket 50/50 BOV, because it's the sound you want, right?

hey, time to get my .02 in here.

first i have heard that the original SS exhausts (still made by some company in ireland or something hayward and scott?????) was possibly the loudest sooby exhuast. but the new generatino ones are quiter, and are of worse qualty. i would say that if you get one get the older version. also since SS is very expensive you might onsider something else. virtually any exhuast on a boxer engine sounds GOOD. but i know wome companies boast special design flows and what not.

the boost gauge is a factory option, it is very easy to install one if you want it. you should be able to pick on eup on ebya for about a 100. or you ight be able to get it through the dealership w/ the 20% off. (see vendor threads) anyway with teh OEM boost gauge it just plugs right in to the existing wiring and then you T a vaccum line fot he signal very easy to do. aftermarket ones are just as easy except the wiring is a litle diffrent and mounting may or maynot be as easy depending on where you want to mount it and what kind of housing you use.

for the BOV there is a thread that is stickeid at the top of this section pls refer to that.

yes but I dont want to sacrefice preformance for it. and theres no point in buying an aftermarket BOV if everything else is stock.

the scoobysports is one of the best sounding ones out there....it delivers the sound alot better than most exhaust i've heard. From what i read about it, they designed it to silence out the flappy sound and leave the pulse. Even on n/a cars it'll let the car deliver the boxer rumble you only get with the turbo cars. I've heard n/a cars with borla headers and they still dont' match that of the scoobysport.

I've got a ScoobySport exhaust. I love it. I posted a sound clip of it on here awhile back. It's quiet until you "get on it".

Some people can get this to play, others can't... good luck.

any subie w/ exhuast has the boxer rumble. i would almost say that it could be more noticeable on an NA car. sounds like we need to compare sometime.

from my understanding that is unless y ou have an equal l ength tuned headers... they take away the staggered exhaust pulses

if you compare the n/a's rumble to a turbo's rumble. there is a big difference...and the turbo's rumble sounds so much better. it's more tone and not as flappy as the n/a.
