Hello, name's Scott. I'm a life-long obsessed car enthusiast with a very large priority in enthusiastic/performance driving. I come from mostly the rwd crowd, but I've had awd before in a b5 a4 w koni coilovers, so I have some experience in driving AWD but that car had a fraction of the power available to me now in my new project. My favorite car I've ever owned is my mk2 gti, because of its incredible response and ability to communicate/teach its limits to the driver, sorta like a German ae86.

Which brings me to this ej20 swapped RS. It is a new experience to be driving a car I've dreamed about since seeing the original wrx sti ver. 1 in Hong Kong as a kid. There are drawings I still have at my parents house of this car with its big fogs, hood scoop, by far one of my dream cars with the Evo ver. 4/5/6. The limits of this car are very high, and will for certain only be reached at a track. This club seems very special and I look forward to meeting you guys.

A couple things I've been looking for with little luck:

Where to get the green oem ver. 6 decal?
    http://www.mirmotors.co.uk/Images/DSCF0629.JPG
    http://www.mirmotors.co.uk/Images/DSCF2312.JPG
    http://www.dragtimes.com/images/17044-1999-Subaru-Impreza.jpg
    http://jpusedcarexports.com/photos/uncategorized/2008/08/27/impreza_wrx_sti_ver4_1997_rear.jpg

In less than a week I've been tweaking height, dampening, camber later... Daily driving it at 4 of 12 stiffness in front and 6 in back (HWY 100 is almost unbearable any stiffer). Cleaned up the car, took subs out, rain-x’d it. Adjusted the coils so are identical on both sides. Rolled front fenders… rears still rubbed on 8/12 dampening and a passenger on big drops in the road (oz chrono 17x8 et48 225/45). Probably need to get pulled…

Also looking for a shovel hood scoop like the gd sti's but only one I found was the seibon carbon fiber one for almost $300.

Anyone good at body work? It has a scuff and small dent behind the ds door from a lil hit & run holster says. I may tackle it myself 'cause can't stand the crazy pricing of a body shop, but if anyone has a lil experience... ver 6 sti grill too, do need.

Fosho, I've been really nice to her... she's only seen high boost maybe twice since I've had her. Thinking about getting retuned soon but balance is low after buying this.

Plans are to keep working with what it has which is a hell of a lot IMO. Suspension is hardly used as it is intended, pillowball mounts, camber plates... so going to Road America is hopefully in the future and a lot of tweaking. So learning its limits and driving it close to daily will be the plan. Its been way fun so far!

Just curious, did you do this by height or weight?

hmm, maybe... I just love that scoop and this thing does have a big APS top mount. But I'm happy with the stock one as well, just wanted to throw it out there if anyone knew where to get one for a decent price.

Thanks for all the kind welcomes!

Agreed. The gd hoodscoops lines just don't flow with the gm/gc body.

yes, I have a mk3 supra. here's a pic, but lets keep this on topic. and yes, I am obsessed with stance -on all my cars. hopefully the gc will receive some of that obsession soon, its just hard to find concave/wide wheels when the offset has to remain in the high 40s on the GC (i know gd doesn't have this problem HATE). I'd love a set of Work Emotion Cr Kai in 17x9 or anything similar in 17x9 w low offset without spending a ton of money. But I'll def continue searching until its found.

Congrats on the purchase. I have a 98' swapped RS, and also like the look of the GD scoop. I ended up ordering the bonnet set from the UK (STi scoop like a usdm 04' sti, and it comes with a vent scoop and 22b other vent). With shipping it is around $260ish. Great quality and good people (fast shipping). Here is a link: http://www.htautos.co.uk/first_6.html

wow, thanks! That link has everything from the ver 6 grill, the shovel scoop itself for around 131usd which I may do instead of the kit. Should prob put that money to redoing the powersteering though but who knows. how much did shipping run you? have a pic of your gc w the scoop?

I have a huge makeover coming for the car in spring. With the v6 front end, piaa fogs, HT Autos "P1" lip, bonnet set (scoop, 22b vent, scoop vent), v6 rear spats, v6 seats....but waiting for nicer weather to do all of the install. Everything is painted and yelling at me "INSTALL ME NOW!!!!"

My shipping price isn't a fair number for you, cause it was the bonnet set and a lip, but it was all shipped for like $80usd, so I'd guess $30-$40 for just the scoop?!? Shoot them an email, they always responded within 24 hours for me. Good reputation on rs25.com as well.

Shipping was like a week or a week and a half at most. Scoop is fiberglass, and the body shop did do about 20 minutes of prepping for a glasslike finish, but structurally, it is awesome and I did test fit before paint, and it fit like a champ!

If you are looking for the Large "WRX" trunk decal, I got mine from Ebay UK. But there is a guy on RS25.com that is currently selling two of them.

Here is the link on RS25.com. http://www.rs25.com/forums/vbclassified.php?do=ad&id=3949

Here is mine, taken last summer of 2008. I am replacing mine with some P1 badges instead.

congrats on the buy! Glad you're part of the club and are going to give that car some extra TLC to make her yours! You're one of the few to start in the right place, improving whats on the car, and learning to drive it. You've made a good initial impression!

This is a great club, hopefully you've already noticed how eager everyone is to lend a hand!

short answer: dj, musician, marketing... prob make less than a lot of people on here.

long answer: I never bought anything with borrowed money, always saved up and paid straight cash! Started cheap and moved up to some nicer rides I've always wanted... So instead of buying a new STi w a loan for x amount of years, in those years I've accumalated up to around 3-4 cars all worth around 4-6k; paid in full. That way you can buy and sell very easily, you're not tied to a payment or have to explain **** to a bank, and you usually don't lose on your investment (unless you go crazy on mods). Asset management 101.

wow, I think you guys are just saying that to keep us GC'ers from being as cool as you gd folks. I'm looking forward to seeing some of these kicks! I'll come at ya like a spider monkey!

I've been keeping an eye on nasioc but nothing has come up that is marginally better than the 17x8 OZ chronos on the car now.

well then they're just haters. explain why this looks any worse than the oem "wave" on sti's? cause the gc one is shorter? I prob won't just cause its hard to justify spending $200 on a hood scoop when the one on there works perfectly fine and still looks good.
