Hey im swaping my legacy VF11 for a TD04 today. Ive heard suggestions on legacycentral of using Permatex Ultra Copper silicon gasket maker on the manifold to up pipe gasket. Im wondering if i should just use it on my uppipe to turbo and turbo to downpipe gaskets as some extra security. Anyone know any reasons why this wouldnt be a good idea?
If so should i just put it on one side or both?
    Thanks
    Kent

I use Copper Cote on all of my exhaust gaskets, and have had success with that.

There is a line of thought, however, that you don't want to put anything like that pre-turbo. It's up to you to decide, I guess.

The main thing that will prevent leaks at the manifold/uppipe joint is following the proper torquing procedure and using a torque wrench to insure even pressure across the flange.
