Second Annual Duluth Trip/Fall Run

I'm hand raising!:biggrin:

Up the north shore to Hwy 1 then to Ely is a great road. Lots of turns and good scenery. I'm sure someone from Duluth can comfirm this is a good road to try.

 

I'm in...last year was a blast. I'm going to sit out on the dirt part again cuz I still like my paint but the drive and the partying is game on :cheers2:

 

Haha, it gets close. But its really only like a 1.5 hour drive(1 WAY) depending on your skillz

Its a fun road.

just pick a day and i can plan aroudn it. it would be good to go with the colors are prime.

as for the off road stuff i am ordering priitive under armor as we speak. so i wil be ready

 

I may be interested... so when you talk dirt roads?? I drive on gravel roads on my Katana's and anyone who has seen them knows that.. but would this be worse or would I want to put on my stock rims?? Readymix do you use your normal aftermarket rims or change them out for the trip

 

Yeah, for full bloomage. I'd say the first or second weekend in October for sure.

yep all should come. We will use this thread as a gauging interest thread then in a month i'll post a thread with all the details. Shooting for the 1st-3rd weekends in october is what we are looking at.

i'll chat with the hotel and see if one of the weekends will be less busy, then we can get most of our rooms joining.

 

October weekends are some of the busiest in Duluth. All the leaf lookers and others trying to get up before the season is over invade this town on the weekends. It is our busiest month of the year (Old Chicago).

I'd reccommend making hotel reservations as early as possible.


There are several great roads north of Two Harbors, not just limited to HWY 2/1. There's a guy that comes in at work all the time, and I'll see if Ican get him to map out all the sweet roads.

 

sounds good. i believe i made all the reservations about 1 month in advance last year. this year i'd like to maybe do it 6 weeks in advance.

 

I will be there, or wait.... here. Last year we had a few subarus in lake superior and many in the mud! Kelly even taught us a few things, like how to lock your keys in your RS and how a branch from a tree will get you back into your car. He also taught us why you should have a skidplate and a full-sized jack inside your car if you plan on going offroading. Really though, it was a blast... can't wait for october.

I will plan on it... my wedding will be done so I should be able to start partaking in more of these events...

 

Thats right, we should probably not plan it the same weekend as the rally.

this is gonan be awesome. should have my skid plates next weekend so i wil be ready. i go the front lip added to em. so no taco plates for me. we should get another pic or two up on skyline dr. make it a official pic spot (hopfully we all fit up there).

We should head over to Ashland and hit up some of the gravel roads I'm familiar with (no huuuge rocks in puddles to ruin skid plates on )

I think we should hit up a restaraunt on the hill. i.e. perkins, applebees, green mill, grizzly's, old country buffet etc. that way we'll have LOTS of parking. instead of canal park where one spot can be hard to find!

that's about all I can offer....or think of for now anyway

 

I know if I go I will need a to ride along with someone because I am pretty sure that my car wouldnt make it. Am I right?

I am from rochester and I was part of the fall run last year but ended up coming back from WI. I had no idea that you guys were planning on staying overnight.

So, we go on the run, stay overnight, and drive back the next day? sounds fun!

not the same thing. you were just on a short fall fun run. this is the duluth trip. duluth trip and ice racings is > all imo
