After sufficient amounts of discussion and agreeing over a pint of beer, us quaint Rochester folks are going to be hosting a small cruise of our own before the really nasty weather is upon us. Here's the plan: Date: November 1st and 2nd, 2008 Time: Starting around 10AM for you big city folk What we're doing: Meet up at the BP gas station stop on Highway 52, just outside of the Twin Cities. 02blubru will be leading the group from there. Travel to Zumbrota and meet with your hosts at Super America, right off of 52. Travel along Highway 60 to Zumbro Falls and stop quickly for fuel at BP, if needed. Continue along 60 through the valleys until we reach Wabasha. Refuel if needed and head to Slippery's (off of main street) for lunch. Travel back along 60, turning off onto 4 towards Theilman. Take 42 until we intersect with with CR 2 and return to Rochester. Regroup at Rochester Community and Technical College and head to HuHot for dinner. HuHot is a mongolian grill. After dinner, we're offering different options for what people want to do, so up goes a poll! If there's enough people that want to do different things, we'll offer up multiple activities. Following dinner and activities, we'll camp in for the night. I am personally opening my home for those who are trustworthy enough to stay there, otherwise Rexarew can hook people up with a hotel near downtown for $63/night, maximum 4 people per room. I believe they are 2 full-size beds in these rooms. The next morning, we'll be doing breakfast at Whistlebinkies or Canadian Honker, whichever is least likely to be packed before we get there. If you don't want to spend the night here, don't worry, home is only 90 minutes away. This is a cruise, not fun runs. That said, we will have radios and will be using them, but we will be going only the speed limit the entire way. If you need to catch up at any point, you can hustle along about 5-10 miles over the limit, but we will be guiding you as much as we can. The lead car is not going to be slowing down for you, as we don't want to bind up traffic more than we have to. Here's a link to the map I've made that will be pointing out the points of our route. It's no problem, I'm thinking the bowling will be our best option (though all the bowling alleys do have bars in them).
Glad to hear it, now we need moar! We've already hit what we thought would be the expected amount of people, but hopefully we can turn this into a rather good turnout on short notice.

I can do it! Beth works, which means she will try and trade with someone so she can go with. If she can not trade with anyone I will fly solo. If I have to fly solo I will most likely only come down for the day. long story short: I am in!

Because you're an alcoholic? Are you coming? When I said "hang out", I meant doing so at our house. The festivities would be more like drinking/videogames/bull****ting/standing around in my tiny garage. We do have a mean cul-de-sac for RC cars.
This will be fun! The only thing I ask if you decide to stay at my hotel is not to trash it or be too roudy. As it is the only time we have allowed people to stay at the hotel that are not going to the mayo clinic. And our guests tend to be a bit sensitive. I'll dig around and find some more hotel rates for everybody in case they want something a bit cheaper.
Take it easy @ first little fella, maybe come to firestone a couple times. But if you wanna jump right into it, then by all means go right ahead!
also for anyone that decides to spend the night we can do some tattooing the next day if anyones interested..or you can all just go stare at the corn cobb.
