    Hi,

Some of you know me. Some of you don't. I'm Bobby, and I'm the evil Asian guy converting Subie owners to Evos over at White Bear Mitsubishi!

Actually, because I get enough WRXs and STi's on our lot I'm considering sponsoring this site to directly market them to Subaru owners/hopefuls! But I've also heard that this is a fun place to BS with people. So here I am, either way.

This is my 2012 Evo GSR. Made 443/418 on corn.

It must be so nice to make 443 on corn with stock block. :( I am guessing I will be lucky to make 350 when i convert in a couple months.

I wish it were a stock block.

Oh okay. I always hear about those evos having a really easy time making way more power. in part from block design/material and exhaust manifold being smaller.

Bore, stroke, rod ratio all plays a factor. Mitsu got it right. Subaru sucks...however the FA...;)

FA is the new platform, for which the FRS/BRZ were the test platform. The new WRX is going to use the same FA. Where the 15 STi will still use the EJ.

Can anyone explain why the **** Subaru would do this?

officially informed. thanks. I haven't followed that since they announced FT86 was turning into NA and scion. big downer for me :( I got my STI by default my 3 day old 2005 STI bought used Blew up. so I took it to Subaru to diagnose and ended up trading it for a brand new STI...That's life.

I think I would ask Bobby how many guys on the mn evo forums had motors go boom. Internet rumors and exaggeration has led everyone to think that all EVO's make 600hp with just some e-85 in the tank. The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Mitsu's blow up if you push them to far. Subarus blow up if you push them to far. Anything over say 350 and I would build the motor just to get it out of the way. Gotta pay to play.

Bobby what are Merlo stands? And why do I want some.

If I had to guess with the rush they seemed to be releasing the 2015 they couldn't get the 2.0 to put out as much as they wanted reliably.
My 2015 wrx should be here next month. Should be interesting.

    Bingo!

That said, you can push the mitu's a little further for less money. We don't have to worry about rotating turbos and moving intercoolers. But all motors have their limits. I found that out the hard way!
