ok i just ordered this shift boot from Redlinegoods they are a vendor on nasioc. the shift boot looks just like this http://www.redlinegoods.com/Subaru9298shiftboot.shtm Mine is all black, black leather with black stitching. I paid $43 with shipping. I am going to order a new one for my car with the red stiching to match my new STi steering wheel. If anyone would like this please let me know, i have no use for 2 shift boots. BTW this is a direct replacement for the accordian style stock shift boot on the car. already has pre punched holes and is fitted to fit perfect for the years listed. Let me know if you want actual picutres of it. I will be brining it to firestone tonight if anyone wants to see it.

I just bought a boot for my 03 with red stitching, I think one of the details is a little weird but other than that it is okay. response email below Hello! that is normal. Since the boot you have ordered is tight on top, the sewing machine won't go all the way in - it's header has a certain size and it just won't get anywhere. This is NORMAL with the kind of boot that you have. Please just try to install it so that the shorter stitched edge faces the FRONT of the car. This way you will not be able to see it while you're in the driver's or passengers seat and it'll look perfect. my original email I recently bought a sift boot and brake lever boot, the shift boot does not look quite right the red stitching on one seam only goes up part way, it does not actually reach the top of the boot. I would assume that is a manufacturing defect. Can I get a boot that has all four red stitches go all the way to the top?
SOLD!! where did you order your boot from? that looks like garbage, as you can see on mine the stitching goes all the way to the top.
That boot came from Redline, I posted their explanation, there is stitching that holds it together, the red stitching is just decorative, it looks like it was added after the boot was stitched together. IF it was done that way I c n't figure out why that stitch cant go to the top like the other 3. Other than the red stitching teh boot is great.
