Shipping a engine or a tranny help...

    Have anybody done this?? If somebody were to ship me a engine or a tranny ;)...what is the first step I need to do?? shipping company??? UPS?? trucking company??

    Suppose that someone is in CA....how much would it cost?? thx..

    if its in the states find a freight company. i worked at fedex and they rape you on freight shipping but it will get there fast. freight will require that it is drained of all fluids and you pay typically by size and the mile.

    Find a loading dock close by and have it shipped there. They will probably charge you for a lift gate and storage fees. You might need a truck to pick it up. I had mines* shipped to a local auto shop where the manager was cool enough to store it for me until I got a lift and truck. This auto shop was small and hmong-owned ;-)
