Please volunteer to work at this event! Worker Registration

Workers get the best seats in the house! You can volunteer for one or both days.

The rates at the Casino are very good, $55/night for a double, and you get a package that includes tickets for $20 worth of quarters for $10 (they will also just give you $10 when you redeem it if you don't wish to gamble), one per night of stay, plus discounts for the buffet. It works out to an effective cost of about $35/night if I recall correctly.

Hope to see you in the woods!

I received this e-mail this morning. Please come out and support Shooting Star Rally.
    -----------
We are still desperately short of workers in all specialties for the 2007 Shooting Star Rally weekend June 8-9 in Mahnomen, MN. Friday night is the Northern Lights rally, and Saturday is the Shooting Star rally. Workers are needed for either one or both events.

Our rally features a great headquarters in the Shooting Star Casino Hotel. The hotel gives the rally a great rate, and when you check in you get a bunch of freebies that make it very cheap.

Due to new road permission issues, we\'ve had to modify the course to be much more compact than we usually do in Minnesota, meaning that course marshals, for one, will need to do less moving and more watching than they usually do. Most workers will see two stages Friday night and three on Saturday.

I want to encourage all area competitors who are not running the events to come out and work, and show your support for the community which provided those events which you have been able to run. I can tell you from experience that working is almost as much fun as competing, and a lot cheaper!

Please sign up to work at:

    http://www.marblesoft.com/rally/workers

Hotel reservations can be made by calling 1-800-453-7827 and using the room
block code \"CLUB RALLY\". Rooms are available for Thurs, Fri, and
Saturday night at our special rates.

    Thank you for your support,

If you're coming to this, for either day, please think strongly about volunteering. Most of the volunteers we need are course marshals, which is a very simple job, and gets you a nice spot to spectate that non-workers can't access. Or you can work start/finish crews and get to intercat directly with the competitors and enjoy the spraying gravel at the start lines.

And helping out with bannering (course set up) is huge fun too. You get to drive the course that the rally cars will be competing on before they do. Bannering can be combined with pretty much any other position too, so you can go out, banner in the morning, then marshal or work a control (start/finish) or whatever you're interested in doing.

If you're coming, and haven't yet registered as a volunteer, plese go to: http://www.marblesoft.com/rally/workers/index.php?register=28 and do so. Knowing ahead of time how many people are helping out allows us to make plans, and it would be a real shame if we had to drop stages due to a lack of help.

I think I've already promised both beds away in my room, and it looks like I'll be hauling up my air mattress.

Unless my codriver can't make it (gotta confirm that tonight) then a bed frees up (and I need a codriver...)

No worries, I'm sure I'll find somewhere to sleep. My jeep is comfortable sometimes :)
