Have you looked at a Kartboy? Great shifter and even better pricing. Tom even throws in candy ;) You should be able to get one with upgraded bushings around 135.00 shipped.

20mins or so. It's really not difficult.

I too am in the market for a short throw shifter. Anyone have the Super Shifter set from TurnInConcepts? Just wondering if all the bushings are worth the effort? I've heard they are, but looking for experiences any of you have.

I have the Kartboy and love it. easy to install, really short throws (40% shorter) and it's a solid piece. The bushings only make it better.

+1 here on the Kartboy/Bushings combo. It's best to get a lift to install the bushings but it can be done without them. You'll need a ramp, jackstands or a very, very thin person to get at them though.

I have the KB SS, KB shift knob, KB f/r bushings and the TiC pivot bushings. It's great. A stock shifter feels like rowing a boat by comparison.

We installed the KB bushings at the same time as doing the engine and tranny mounts, so we had the exhaust completely off the car. That made the installation really easy. At least that's what Sean tells me, since he was the one actually doing it while I was busy disassembling/reassembling the tranny crossmember bushings/mounts at the time.

Yeah, that's the general understanding I'm getting from others as well. How long did the install take for the SS, f/r bushings and the pivot bushings? Did you have to modify the metal surround piece in the shifter bay (that may not make sense...but I've heard that some of the short shifters require some cutting). I've mostly heard this with the Cobb shifter, but it may apply to the Kartboy as well.

I have the same setup as stooo minus the pivot bushings. It was the first mod to my car and the one I use and notice the most (well, maybe next to tires). Feels much more notchy and precise.

install took 1.5 hours with rhino ramps and hand tools.

Taking the shifter out isn't hard, been there when I did the clutch. So the bushing's aren't completely necessary or do you suggest doing them?

Hmmm, for the KB SS you have to take the old pivot bushings out of the old shifter to put them on the new one. Might as well do the TiC pivot bushing while you're at it, and save yourself a step :)

^I will in the future. The TIC pivot bushings were not available when I ordered the package a year and a half ago.
But to the OP, yes, you might as well.
