Save the car Bill. Keep the money you would've spent on the LGT, and save it for a shortblock. Then if you ever need it, you already have the money. Then you could always upgrade the turbo as well, and everything else.
BTW, JDM cluster rules! And thanks to Phi11 for making me a sweet vinyl decal to cover up the KM/h logo. Now it says MPH, just like it should.
are you just working of of mental conversion, or is there a hack to have it display MPH on the KM/H cluster?
Can you post of pic of your car for those of us who don't know what it looks like? I could place a better vote once I see it
Not necessarily a hack, but I have a conversion cable from IAPerformance that runs from my speed sensor to the vehicle harness. It just replaces the old harness, and I has a chip in it that converts over KM/h gauges to MPH.
I voted for the last option even though there is never and end to the mods that can and should be done!
whatever makes you happy. the next step for your power modding is gonna cost you, assuming short block or bigger turbo, etc... IMHO- i love your car...keep it, mod the hell out it. sell your soul to the devil, get two jobs, save money, get another car down the road. but keep your car:biggrin:
I had to cast my vote for keeping and modding. Everyone appreciates how great of a car you own, even the potential buyers, but no one loves it as much as you have. Its your car man, keep it 'till the end!
I will need help with the install!!! chances are increasing Start making them my man... Here you go. View attachment 8626 View attachment 8627 Best idea ever... mullet mobiles FTMFW!!!
just playing mate... I still have to get my tank hydroed too.... oh wells... more important things... Bill.. Honestly.. why worry about opinions.. you have to pay the bills, or pay for a house over a car... dont let others whom are up to their teeth in debt sway financial decisions... like I said about me choosing not to buy a LGT... I could walk out now and pay for 5 of them cash.... but who am I trying to impress by having a nice 'r' car.. mine works, I own it... and I will own 2 houses soon, not just another car!!! keep you car.. cut back on CHIPOTLE ha ha and buy your house.. trust me.. once you have a house, toys will come in their due time... more important things then a fancier ride my friend...
LMFAO at Nate, he has a point tho...you could have an LGT or own half of Chipotle if you invested more wisely. Nate, that tank was Hydro'd less than two years ago, that field owner (not naming names) is a moron.
yeah well there IS NO markings on it... NONE.. so he is within his right to refuse to fill it... its his business... oh well $40 to get it done, is cheaper then buying a brand new one
Hehe Just to bring in a differing opinion... All the money put into the car from here on out will see diminishing returns Bill. Unless you plan to keep it another 3-4 years to get your moneys worth. It's going to be hard to get your money back from a new block and or bigger turbo and all the rest of your mods. The engine may be low miles but everything else will not. Dealerships won't care and selling on here? Well, we're all out for the best deal so think bargain pricing to make it sell. I was in your spot, sitting at 150k wanting something more from it but every step was $$$. I wanted a bigger turbo, but I'd need a FMIC, tune, injectors, fuel pump. Soon after that I'd need a new block, get all that power and soon the tranny would go... Plus I was worried about burning another exhaust valve and being down without a car again. All I could see was an empty bank account and a 9 year old bugeye shell with a ton of stuff that nobody would be willing to pay what I had paid for it... Sometimes it's better to cut your losses, but in the end. It's up to you! Not saying, just saying /ducks
that's a great point ^^^ but in 5 yrs it would be the same with the next car... NO car built within the last 10-15yrs is going to make many people money.. not like a classic collector car... so your choice is realise you will never get your money back either way, but in the end what will you have... newer car that will break with mods, or an older car that will break with mods
True, cars are not wise investments cause they 99% of the time will never show you a profit. But, you *could* possibly have a better base car that doesn't require as many mods to get to the point of satisfaction. So therefor less loss on the mods in the end. Plus, LGTs seem to hold value pretty well. Would be easier to sell because the Honduh crowd tire kickers isn't really looking to buy them on the cheap. A used LGT is a pretty darn nice base car. Someone has already took the hit on depreciation... I think you would be out less than if you threw all that money into the bugeye. But maybe not. No idea what Bills plans are. I'm just going off of what I wanted to do with mine.
I dunno, I'd be happy with a LGT on sways, springs and MAYBE Stage 2. Should still be plenty reliable and with minimal cost in mods.
yeah right.. nayone who is truly into modding cars will only be happy for so long till the bug bites again....
Yup. I gave up on my car because of this exact reason. I don't race the car so there's really no real reason to keep on doing it. Now I waste money on our dirtbikes, hahaha.
I dunno man! I haven't touched the MS3 and don't really plan to. Maybe some sways this spring, but that's about it. I'm plenty happy with it. Especially the stealthness, that was my biggest gripe with the WRX and my never ending chase for more power. Haven't been revved or pulled up on the highway in it yet! Surprisingly it has kept me happy as is for the last 6 months. Dream, he may be a different story though!
Of course bending over and taking the loss I did for the Bugeye has left a sour taste in my mouth regarding mods. I've got better things to spend my money on right now than to start that ish all over again... I've got something fun, reliable and with a valid warranty. It's all I need.
others opinions never hurt. Ultimately I don't think I ever really wanted to sell it, but would have for the right price. I love the car, the looks, the power, the unfinished tune... (tom) I know putting more parts and stuff into it will never get me more money back, but my car is my hobby, pretty much the only one I spend money on. I love doing stuff to them and making it my own. With all that said, I am excited to buy a house so I can start doing things to my car again. Weather it be cosmetic or power mods. Thanks for the input everyone.
