Hey guys! Been lurking around here for a while, as well as other subaru forums, for a couple reasons: 1. To find/buy a 98-01 impreza; and 2. Just gather info on subarus in general... even though i still didn't learn much... yet

Anyways.. i'm turning 16 by the end of april this year and i have been searching for a decent 98-01 impreza (coupe preferably). Well, of course i'd find some, but either they're already gone, seller never gets back to me/whoever contacts them for me, or they're out of my price range :eek4: But, yesterday i found a impreza on RS25.com that ,uh, is in need of saving i guess? maybe? sorta? lol When i saw the pictures, i was like "WTFBBQ?!:ugh::hsugh:" but then thought for that price, i could use the rest of whatever i was going to spend on a car and fix it up to good health  But i don't know if i should bother with this one since i'm looking for a first car... so advice/help make decision please????

    Oh, and here's the link:

Comes with lots of goodies...V6 front end cept for headlights, nice sti seats although it makes it all kinda off looking from the blue and tan. I think if you can do the body work yourself, it would save lots of money and make a good project ride. Hopefully the seller can find out what's wrong with the leak, because spending 5bills to fix a leak is a bit spendy and it still wasnt fixed...dunno all you though bro. GL

yeah, i know what you mean. as for the bodywork; how hard would it be for me to pull the dent behind the door? would i be able to actually do it by myself or would i have to bring it into a shop?

Honestly I don't know. I don't do body work myself but from looking at that sale thread, it seems it needs quite a bit of work. If you don't care for rust, then you can just leave it. I, myself is a bit anal about my exterior so I care, like i said if you don't then it's all good.

heh, i would be anal about something like that too... plus i kinda have a OCD-ish kind of thing to keep everything nice and clean and as "perfect" as possible when it comes to my belongings... well besides the organization of my room.

If he's giving away his v6 grill, lower the price! It looks tight, but yeah i guess you can LEARN to do body work in your garage ;-) lol If you don't mind telling what's your limit? Body work can be quite a bit seeing that you'll have to repaint the car since your into having your ext. looking nice.

Hehe. I'll try to learn on how to do bodywork if one of you guys from here would kindly help me.:biggrin: I believe that my limit on spending on a car would be around $4000 minimum and maybe $6000-$6500 maximum. :yumyum:

Probably can bargin him to 5500 or something like that...Good thing abotu this 98 is they are known for their headgaskets going @ 100k and he's already done that. Headgaskets changing (if you have someone else do it for you) cost quite a bit of money so that saves quite a bit. No rust he claims also which is a plus. You won't regret hopping on a gc8, cuz I don't ;-)

Ok, logged in at school for the next hour or so.

Oooooh, my like! Maybe i'll have to check out this one out if i can get the "ok!"

I would love to get my hands on Holster's gc, but i'm afraid i would ruin it in some sort of way. also, i'd prefer to do my own swap to get a bit more experienced with my new toy ;D

As for Blackstar's rs, i've been considering that as well, so i'll probably pm him sometime later... eventually..

thanks for helping me so far guys!!:woot::+1::jumpy:
