Subarukid and myself are avid bmx riders so we are going to meet up at The Oval on friday 11 am or so. If any one wants to ride/skate at a decent outdoor park that is fairly cheap on admission, that would be cool. It's in Roseville here's the website: http://www.ci.roseville.mn.us/parks/skatingcenter/index.php The last time I went there was about 4 years ago. The ramps are decent and it's pretty open. Not a whole lot of people ride there so it's not very congested with people especially kids. But things might of changed.
i use to ride the oval every day! well i helped start it way back in the day when i inlined but it was cool back then. then the all turned into little thugs so went to bmx. still love that place and miss it but haven't road in 2 years. would be fun to go there and see if i still have it.
i used to fruitboot but wasn't very good, i started too late and got too damaged when i fell still have them though along with all my pads and helmet...somewhere....
I've heard about it, but never got the opportunity to ride there. Now that I'm brakeless I doubt I'll be hitting up any trails....unless I am able to get a Standard Trailboss/TRLS 250(not the recent ox versions), then I'll happily slap on some diacomp 990's and probably quit everything else except for trails. But I usually ride park in the winters and street in the summer.
Awesome! I had no idea this place existed... I am in the process of building a 2' high by 12' wide mini too...
is there still people there at monkey village that keep it up? that place was fun as hell when use to ride
There's a guy named Landon aka "he looks like Jesus" that maintains the trails as far as I know. But yeah, supposedly from a guy I spoke to today, they are built quiet nice and smooth. Ride the oval tomorrow, we can all die from dehydration together!
OMG, it is better than ever. Most the cheez wedges are huge. probably 8 foot jumps with 15 foot gaps....it's some serious air
have u guys ever heard of Showcase?! that place is crazy!! they got a foam pit and a HUGE half pipe/bowl...this place is nutz! this is located in rogers..
do they allow bikes? like my freeride bike?? I'd love to hit a kicker or such with a foam pit....need to learn the 360 on my bike
yes they do! lol they have certain days like for some days its bikes, and some days its skateboards and roller blades er watever! they have like 2 rollins (one is bigger than the other) that goes into the foam pit...soo fun! lol
here is a vid to give u an idea of like the setup...but everything looks sooo small!! the bowl looks liek a damn mini ramp...but if i remember right...its 30 feet high!!
lol wow 3 posts in a row! lol i suppose i could just give u a link to their website! lol they got a pic gallery and **** and all the good stuff u wanna know bout it... http://showcaseskatepark.com/
yeah...its a pretty sweet place! seriously...u walk in the building and it looks like its an office building! lol its soo organized and soo quite..and then u walk into heaven...uh...i mean...the park and its like WOW! lol its very fun!
I dunno, I'm not too excited on showcase's setup, the pyramid with the grind boxes/rail is a little too close to the quarter pipe. The box jump seems small because if I remembered, I didn't want to do a 360 in thinking that I might end up landing on the edge of the ramp. Over all it's place to ride and that's cool especially in the winter, but compared to other parks(Ollie Co, Third Lair, JSaw, The Oval) it's not that great but that's my opinion.
