i am at the stage in my install where i need to cut wires and re attach tem to the piggyback.

i am tiwsting wires, then soldering them, and the E-taping them.

EDIT: i have successfully atached the MAF, Temp, o2, Power, ground, and some other stuff. i am working on teh last part (for now) the ignition. i have intercepted the 2 wires that come form the ignitor and go to the ECU.

currently these are cut, and attached to the unit (as they should be) but the car is not runnign correctly. and every time i try to re wire the existing wires get alittle shorter.

strip the insulation off the wire big enough to tap into it, dont cut the wire

    cant you repin the outs/ins?
it might be a pain in the ass, but it would be tons cleaner.

Erik: thats a negatory on tappin in to the signal. i need to intercept the signal and change it so the wires must be cut.

Disco: i have no clue on how to re pin them. although i bet it would lok alot cleaner.

i have already cut the MAF signal wire and the Ignition signals. i woldered and taped all the connctions, the MAF one owrks fine, and tyhere were some issues w/ the ignition.

first off i did 1 ignition wire and tested it, it worked ok. the car ran alittle rough and the RPM readins were off. i did the second wire and the car ran like CRAP. just dogging and back firing like nuts. so i put the igniton ones back together.

i think the RPMs were off since it was only reading 1 of the ignition wires so it only received 2 cylinders. thus giving me 1/2 the rpms.

well, you can get replacement pins that you crimp onto the wires that will allow you to set them back into the original connector housing.

kind of like custom pining a computer cable.
i've never done an entire set of pinouts, just repaired ones that i pulled on too hard.

you need to know 100% which pins go where as it's not to healthy to plug stuff in wrongways.
maybe splice things in one at a time untill you have it running 100% then slowly go back and repin the connectors.

for signal i would guess that any good physical conection would be fine. maybe chase down bad splices w/ a ohmmeter.
