SO i continued my drunkin rage the weekend after the ice races. (i didn't drink enough there so i wanted more!! yeah right! ) but anyways i went out to wyoming thurs, fri, sat, sun and came home monday. just this past weekend. We got into jackson hole late thurs and drove about 1 1/2 hours north into the mountains. Got up there at 1:30am to get out of the tin box they called a van and it was -14!! So we woke up at 7 and went out riding it was about -18 when we woke up!! Long day but super fun. it was my first time out in powder like that on a sled but it was really sweet. Then i slept fri night and did another long day of riding sat! Then i started to get thirsty. started drinkin after dinner at about 7pm (OPEN BAR!!) and continued till about 2am when the bartender wanted to leave. i guess from what i was told i went into my cabin (with my dad and 2 other guys all sleepeing) i had the top bunk. i guess i fell off of the bed in the middle of the night and just got up and went back to sleep. of course i had no recolection of this at all:laugh: but it was a rough morning sun. i didn't get out on the sleds till about 12 i was still a little tipsy then. plus to make it worse on sun morning at 9am it was -28:eek3: it was SOOO cold! that was ambient temp w/o windchills. rode a little and came in for dinner. was felling better after dinner so i started the train again!! we were leaving mon morning at about 4am so i was gonna go to sleep early! (yeah right!) I again being the idiot i am, closed with the bar at about 1:30 then thought i may as well pull an all nighter. not really. i made it till about 2:30 and passed out in the big lodge area. i somehow awoke in my bed at 4:45am to a loud BAM!! they had to practicly kick in the door cuz it kinda froze shut. then they turned on the lights and said LETS GO!! no time to shower or do anything to get ready or wake up at all. we left and it was +10 and when we got to jackson whole it was -34!!! none of the electricity worked at the airport so they had to manually check every person in and search everything and person one at a time!! non the less it was a really fun time sorry for the super long story hope you like the pics!
looks like so much fun!! _________________ Evan 2002 wrx www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com
IT was a blast the only bad thing is when you get stuck!! like the first picture you are out of breath before you get to the stuck person's sled!!
yeah thats a lot of snow! _________________ Evan 2002 wrx www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com www.awdaddicts.com
my friends are up in the mountains right now. one has a modded 800 ski doo summit, the other one has a 1000cc ski doo summit fuel injected with a 50 shot of nitrous.. couple sick ass rev chassis
Yeah, looked like a ton of fun. Just be careful when out in the backcountry in the mountains. Avalanches kill a ton of snowmobilers every year -- and guess what -- the majority of them are all idiots from the midwest who have no idea about mountain avalanche safety. AND WHERE'S MY CROWN ROYAL?@?!?OMG?!!!
:+1:.......Safety first! Glad everyone had a good time and made it home safe...w/the exception of the hangover! haha...Looked like a blast, nice pics!
what are avalanches??? j/k haha +2 for safety!!! wish i could run my suby through that. It would be total fun.
We never really got to high into the mountains to have to worry about avalanches. i was mostly reallt sweet hills and meadows that we got to go play in!!
Yeah, you think the "foothills" of the mountain is definitely where the most fun would be at!! Although, going full bore down the mountain side trying to outrun an avalanche does sound tempting!hnoes:
Tell me about it!!!! ...or walking down into a valley to help someone, then having to WALK OUT because they couldn't stop the sled or they would have never got out!
If you get tired at that elevation, try hiking at 12,000+ feet sometime. I thought I was going to die a few times, lol.
