so i usually am not a street racer, haven't been for a few years now, but tonight, i got sucked into it and had to do a few pulls with some kid. I'm at the liquor store off of foley and hwy 10 next to showplace cinema, by buddy is getting some drinks, then some punks start walking over while i'm in the car. Fist thing they ask is "is it stock?" right then you know they wanna do something. They point to their car, which looks like a stock BMW 3 series with body mods and an exhaust. i didn't want to, but my buddy opened his mouth and said we'd race for sure. So we first do a highay pull, which i didn't want to becuase of our rediculously slow rolling abilities. WE actually started at 65 and i hung the whole way to 100, we then exit off of hwy 10 to 65, now is the fun. we go from a stop, i miss 2nd gear, he goes by, then we go all the way past northtown on old 10 to coon rapids blvd. we finally hit another light, i don't miss any gears and put a whole car on him and he never catches back up, still he hung really good once my initial launch advantage was up, he never fell back or gained on me. we go back to the store, he was dumbfounded, started saying i was no where near stock and this and that. turns out he had a supercharged engine pushing 8 psi, M3 drivetrain, LSD, every bolt on, you name it. I thought it was fun, he knew then i wasn't stock, and we talked for about 20 minutes there, pretty cool kids. ahh, all done now, just wanted to gloat for taking down some punks new BMW with another $5-8K worth of mods with my stage 2 car.
eh.... There was this Mustang....convertable, V8 I think... lined up RIGHT NEXT TO FIRESTONE with EVERYONE's eyes peering at us. Engines revv, light flashes, boom we're off. I take like .5 cars in 1st, then I hit 2nd and I pull another .5 cars making a total of 1 cars until I let off like at 5500rpms in 2nd gear. 4.111 makes it quite fun . . . . but that's it for me. It was for just kicks and giggles. No more stoplight acceleration contests for me.
before I changed my wastegate spring I was boosting 8-9 psi and would do 0-100 in about 11-12 seconds. Well, a stupid cavalier wanted to race me when I was on my way back home on I-90. He waited for me at a toll booth (it was late at night so we were the only ones there) and revved as I threw in my change. Needless to say it wasn't even a race, I started out normally driving a little fast and he kept up with me and I wasn't even in boost, then he got next to me and I just gave it hell and took off. He didn't even pass me for the last 40 miles of my trip home (I even drove under the speed limit so I could make fun of him) for some reason, I guess he just found out his fart can cavalier wasn't as fast as he thought it was
