I too will be moving to California. My wife got a job with EJ Gallo in Modesto and we will be flying out on the 26th. I have met some great people thru this community and it has been an excellent resource. Perhaps with enough people out West, we will start the Cali MN Subaru contingent. On a side note, along with California's wack vehicle laws(guess I'll have to take off all my poserboy stickers), they also have wack firearm laws. If anybody in seriously interested in purchasing an AK47, AR-15, or a CETME, shoot me a pm and I'll give you some specs. I won't sell to anyone without a permit to purchase.
All you need is to go to your local police dpt or sheriffs dept, and fill out a permit to acquire firearms from fed dealers form, and then you get the permit in 1-2 weeks, its free. You dont need a permit to purchase privately, but It is wise to only sell to those who have the permits, it shows that the gvmt says its ok. I had the same rule for a friend when i purchased my SA XD-40. Even though he was a friend i made him get the permit to cover my ass. I dont know how far modesto is to SD but i will be in SD on the 5th of april. Tim
you both can get different types of AIDS...but probably from the same dirty...oh wait, Tims going out there to be with a girl, and your married. JK good luck with the move, and maybe you'll see the light and move back!
Do you have any authentic parts for the CETME (as in HK goodies) or is it just the base rifle? I've got a PTR that I'm always looking to add to.
How do the CARB regs get applied to cars that are being moved into the state? Do all mods have to be removed or are you given some sort of exception?
I lived in Stockton, about 30 minutes away from Modesto It was pretty fun (if you know where to go and who to go with) Have fun in cali, tho the car laws sucks azz
Sorry, no HK bits on the CETME. Woodland: you have E-mail. CARB will be teh suck. I am going to put the stock exhaust(downpipe on) on it and pray. If they look at the headers, I'm screwed, if they look at the up-pipe, I'm screwed, if they look at the turbo...
