i just buy the car of my dreams for a good deal, and i get back to town, (small town) and people with everything from mitsu's to probes with some jdm mazda engine want to race me. telling me sti's are really slow cause they saw one run a 14 in the 1/4 at the strip... anyone else have these problems? its really dumb i think. they should reasearch their cars before picking on somthing alot bigger than what they drive. im pissed cause all night i was enjoying my car and people were just ripping on me about it.

14's at the strip?...but what does the probe run? 16's? As far as Mitz unless it is an EVO I wouldn't sweat it. Eclipse 80% of the time are just ricers. Mazda's unless it is an RX7, I wouldn't worry about it. Enjoy and ignore the rest...The big talker's are just that..."All Talk". Believe me I have my fair share of wannabe racers talk'in smack at my Dealership when I drive my WRX there...Celicas, SRT-4s, Eclipse, EVO, Integras, Civics, Mazdaspeed, Mustang, etc. Funny, I always hear in the background I got "NOS" and when you ask what does that stand for, they got no clue..haha...All they say is "Hella Quick and I'll Beat yo Sh*t wit it".

Don't worry about it...Honestly they are jealous that a 4 banger just beat their JDM swap and v8s. Haters, trolls, just wished they had your car.

First off, congratulations on the STi purchase! STis usually tempt the owner to modify for more power... especially when they're younger. Resistance is futile. ;)

Secondly, it takes a lot of STi owners practice until they get the hang of launching their cars to get low 13's stock. Some STi drivers cannot drive the STi and it's even worse when others see that and assume that STis are slow.

Congrat's on the STI, so what if they can do 12, 13, 14 second 1/4mile pass. What does it translate to everyday street use besides getting on the freeway. I would let them pass me up from the start just so I can overtake them going into the corner when they have to start braking early and than I'd like to see just how long it takes them to catch backup! U got more braking, traction, you can get on the gas quicker and U got a rally car! Anything else!

Do what I do, to racers that piss me off, stage and the lights, when it turns green, let them take off as fast as they can, and slowly roll away from the light like you normally would, then give em the wow your car is fast, nothing makes me laugh more than watching someone beat their car, and trust me they know they are going to have to give it 110% for most cars to even stay close. OH and you need to atleast "chip" it and put the tbe exhaust on.

you will get everyone wanting to race you.
just tell em you are getting used to the 6 speed, and you'll treat them to a proper ass whoopin later in the summer.

The value of a car is not rated in how fast it can go in a straight line. If you want to do that, go buy a 5.0 mustang and save yourself some money.

It's a nice car for a million other reasons. Congrats on the purchase. What ever happend to my old rs?

if put in the proper car; mx-3 or similar lots of torque, its a nice engine. when properly tuned and a decent driver it pulls high 13's n/a. But anyway congrats on your new car, dont worry about the haters

for catless, INVIDIA w/ the mechanical fix, but you will creep
    on the vf39.
(i will have one for sale pretty soon. coated and wrapped. $200)

for catted, i used the helix w/ a race cat.

and for what it's worth, consider an acessport and a tune at some point.

good to see its still in the area running around. I still miss that car. It's pretty fast for an NA RS, but not likely to keep up with any turbo cars.

ahh memories, I still wish i had that car sometimes, so I could still compete in STS, but the yellow car is fun in SM too, it just eats money. so far replaced suspension, replaced ECU, replaced boost controller, new pads, all new fluids, new rotors, new seat, repainted front end, foglight covers, and a gajillion dollars worth of tuning....

    HAHAHAAH!

    That's awesome.

You will have to help me on net 'speak though...what is a "troll"

I assume it means, trolling for compliments/attention, by whining about something that others don't have.???

As for ricers/racers/and 1/4mile fans: It is still beyond me why people enjoy going down a straight quarter mile find it so amazing or a true test of an automobile.

I think 0-60 and quarter mile times are all cool to know, but to me it's more about the mid range pull, I want to know 30-80, 60-100, braking distance, slalom time, etc.

As someone on an autox board said:

"The quarter mile is for fast cars. The autox/road race track is for fast drivers."

I just got my '04 STI a month or two ago and I have the same problem. Everyone under the sun revs on me and drives fast around me. It's annoying but it's dropped off a bit when I changed my wing to a WRX trunk.

Yeah, it's the wing, not the car. People see the grocery cart handle on the car and automatically assume you will race....I swapped trunks recently with an STi and everyone wants to race now.

I personally think it's much sexier to drive my car slow. Plus I would go broke paying for all the gas if I raced everyone that wanted a piece.

Haha, OT forum. No wonder. Its just a pecker measuring and ashole stretching contest in that forum that would put ol' goatse to shame.

If your not used to flaming I suggest staying clear. Even though its a harmles forum even as far as flaming goes.

Well, most of it isn't bad. Just stay out of Off Topic for posts like that. You porbably wuold have had a better experience in the general discussion forum.

The OT'rs just act like asholes because they think they have a reputation to uphold. They're mostly just pimple faced Honda owners.

Where I live, every joker with a pickup truck that has a 'hemi" wants to take me on. The last time that happened I let them ride my back bumper (two lane back road) and when I got to a nice tight turn I sped up to 85 (35 mph speed limit), the guy just about lost it. yeah I know that was mean, but I didn't ask him to ride a foot from my rear bumper.

Hey... I guess my pleas were finally heard.... here is the letter from Nasioc and my reply...

    NASIOC Team:
    Dear wrxboy2003,

We are sorry to inform you, that you have received enough warning points, to be banned from NASIOC.

This is a permanent ban and will last for ever .

Please reply back if you have a dispute.

    ----------------

    My Reply:
no dispute....... thankyou thankyou thankyou... means I wont find myself having to go to this God forsaken 'crap'hole any longer.....

maybe you should ban some of the Moderators for what they say and also some of the other titwads for just being plain a55holes...

This site used to be great... guess like WalMart... the bigger it gets the worse the service...

oh yeah permanent usually means FOREVER you friggin morons... Unlike most your other members who need to have it explained to them their heads form their ar5eholes I have a little more intelligence than that....

yes... although I have said at times there have been some dissappointing things on this site from time to time, it is a great site filled with a great bunch of guys.... 99% of the time they are super helpful and supportive, maybe a fraction of 1% do you get any trashing, but usually most that is in fun....

so every club member take note..... people love this site cause we are friendly and helpful and enjoy our cars etc etc... lets not lose that...

Thats the reason I spend most of my time on MNSubaru, and Subaruforester. They're nice forums, with people who know what they're talking about, and while you may get told to search, the flaming is kept to a minimum.

    +1 MNSubaru
