I know I know, I can't make it my WRX but I'm missing the power and want to make a couple upgrades to get a little more... I'm leaving the suspension as is due to the crazy ass HIGH CLEARANCE VEHICLE ONLY trail head roads out here.

At any rate, I'm thinking AP ( yes I know I can't use my WRX one :emo: and will need to buy new )
    Main Pulley
    Down Pipe
    Gutted Uppipe

I'm having trouble finding a TBE for the outback so I guess I'll just keep the cat back that's on there and open up that bell mouth by the turbo.

    So, what are your thoughts?

For a full TBE or just catback? The Cobb downpipe runs almost 600 alone... hmmmmm

    ERZ..... DP
then catback exhaust custom made would be anywhere from $250 up... I ma sure you could straight pipe it for $150... but I am sure you want somethign that rumbles but is not a headache

Yeah, keep in mind it's an outback. I don't want the soccer moms to think I did some jerry rig'in. If I decide to stick to the DP and keep the existing cat back... is it worth getting the DP at all?

mating them up will be a bitch, but doable... me personally I would say dont bother.. i would open up the exhaust before adding a DP over a CBE... thats what I did with my WRX... Built the exhaust then added the DP & UP

i would think that DP will for sure improve the spool and and some power. You have to consider that most likely stock downpipe has a flange on the wastegate that i am pretty sure is restrictive plus it has cats.

Indeed it does, when I took off the DP on my wrx it had a big ol' plate with a little hole in it... the COBB dp was wide open... total difference. I'm just wondering about what happens to all that exhaust when it gets back down to the 2.5 pipe. Oh well, DP it is! Thanks gang!

um.. yeha but its like taking a firehouse and trying to clean a straw with the flow... the stock DP is restrictive but not as much as everyone makes out especially for stock power... same with exhaust but when you take out the rest of teh exhasut with a cat and restrictive muffler it will flow.. once you start adding some tuning then a dp is a great idea... I ran almost 1.5 yrs with just a cat-back... then I added the dp for about a yr then I tuned ;) <--- not the recommended wya ha hah a...
