    ROCKFALLS RACEWAY
It was suppose to be a test and tune day but turns out they changed it but since I was there I entered anyways. Anyways I don't have pictures of my time slip yet but I'll tell you what I got:(

Mods: Catless Turboback, Cold Air Intake, ECU Flash

    First run:w/Launch Control
    60ft: 1.9
    1/4mile: 13.4sec @ 103mph

    Second run:w/Launch Control
    60ft: 2.1
    1/4mile: 13.5sec @ 103mph

So what's the deal here? Even with LC I can't seem to get a better 60ft then
I did last year which was a 1.8 bone stock! I am not happy. I was hoping for
    high 12's.

just because you have launch control doesn't mean you will take off faster...

Learn to be a better driver (I'm not trying to offend you), and you should be able to hit faster times.
Continue practicing, learn your shift points, and do it at the track, not on public roads LOL

Something worth mentioning is get familar with your power band, and than your gears, knowing where your power starts to come on will help you decide if you should short shift in certain gears. Often novice drivers waste alot of time using up all the revs to the limiter for no reason. And be smooth with the clutch, dumping it will causing a loss of momentum. Its been too long since I last drag raced. Goodluck next time out.

jokes aside, some people have given you good advices. It takes a lot of practice and getting to know the car. I had the car for about a month and I know how much I such at shifting, because I don't know it that well :D

    Haha Public Roads right Nuke:)

Dump clutch at redline? Noway I'd never do that;)

    Well since I haven't dyno'd my car I just shift between 6,700rpm and 7,000rpm.

Talking about public roads when I came back from the gym I tried launching around
3-4k rpm not using the LC. Results FELT alot better because my tires lost traction:)
    Now awaiting June 7th.

Do you think an a car with a 4eat, same supporting mods plus a TC would run faster?

Its a rally based car, not a drag car. That is the problem, gearing isnt designed for 1/4 mile racing.

Nuke's got a point. Learn how to drive.
Also, launch control is over-rated... Look at Fuji... 2.4 60 ft manually and 2.2 with LC? Then Nuke cut a 1.9 same day same car. First RF of this season I think everyone using LC was in the 1.9 range. Launching manually I was in the 1.70-1.9x range with lots of camber.

Try lifting your foot off the clutch faster after you get it to catch. Also, assuming you have a typical stage 2 powerband, try shifting into 2nd at redline, 3rd at 6750, and 4th and 5th around 6500.

I bet you wouldn't even feel the difference...I know Sheen would ;)

Don't know if he would even worry about 5th...lol Just let the car roll in the 1/4 mi. after 4th to redline, shifting to 5th may give u a hick up ;)

Better launches I've seen came from Idget and Rabbit without burning the clutch...I practice at the parking lot when I was selling subs, especially on the sti and WRX ;)

"Oh, I thought you were gonna go... then I saw you take off slowly and I accidentally got back on the cluth."
    "And still hammered the gas?"
    "Ummm... yeah."
    "Sure, Ray."

That was the night we swapped my header and plugs and I had that misfire from a bunk plug. He knew I couldn't go past 3k but still tried to race... ricer:biggrin:

Tux, it really is all about pedal control. It took me almost 2 years to launch an AWD car well. Last year I was getting 1.8 consistently with mine, even with the RE92s. It comes with time.

Yeah, these cars are a bit tricky to learn how to launch/drive correctly.

RE92's are awesome drag tires tho (for up to 300wtq, 260whp... never tried them on anything above that)... much easier to get that little bit of wheel spin out of them compared to re070s, 225 rs2's, and 245 z1's.
