then go to the dealer and get it done... I am on my 3rd windscreen....

only cause of stones from trucks.. not cause it wasnt OEM glass... it still has standards it has to meet for safety...

Depending on the size of the crack, it could be fixed, and insurance would cover the "fix" with no "claim" so your insurance wouldn't change rates, etc.

But otherwise, I went with "auto vision" very nice people and got my windshield replaced for around 250/ glass+labor+ came to my house

I'm with State Farm and they have replaced my glass for free without upping my rates... so far. I've used their service 6 times in the last 2 years.

I just got a little chip on the new car too so I'll be using them again within the next week when I get a chance to call my agent to setup an appointment.

^^I'm with Vic... only I got 3 replacements instead of 6 within the past 3 years. I don't like driving behind semis, so mine lasted twice as long. ;)

Talk to Mr. Angusracer. He can hook you up if insurance declines your concern.

I just had mine done in my WRX, they used PPG glass (good glass, oem glass for lots and lots of companies) I asked for the PPG glass, didn't cost me anymore though I did it through my insurance anyways, I'd suggest autoglass specialist, they were really good to me, I even went for the "visor" option, it's a little dot matrix pattern around the rear view mirror, that block a lot fo sunlight, it actually works pretty good.

The lady I talked to at autoglass specialist, said they could get the glass from subaru, but you never really know where they get it from, according to her anyways, and she's said they seen some cheap mexican glass come from dealers, so I just opted to have the quality PPG glass they were going to use anyways. I did talk to brian, he said they could get glass, but didn't know any specfics.
