http://minnesota.cbslocal.com/2014/11/22/4-injured-in-anoka-co-car-crash/ Hope everyone else involved will be ok.
police say alcohol may be a contributing factor for a preliminary investigation. Sounds pretty obvious at that time.
4/2 pots look OK. Actually, looks like he just painted the calipers red, not the good 4/2's that say Subaru on them.
It's pretty sad a person lost their life, and three other people life will never be the same, yet all you can think of is a part-out.
I haven't found the update yet. I do understand that most people may not know, without an update. I have a friend/coworker that is friends with the driver, so most of the things I know about this are "inside information".
very sad. http://www.twincities.com/crime/ci_27009969/arrest-me-coon-rapids-teen-reportedly-asked-police
It is a sad story. You got that right. However, this under age person was consuming alcohol before becoming of age. I know this isn't rocket science and many kids do drink before the legal age. Can't really stop that, but the thing that chaps my ass is with technology today and all the available resources like taxi services / uber /lyft / etc... They could have split the ride home and figured out how he would have gotten his subaru in the morning. It is not worth driving after you have had that many shots and a few beers. My thoughts and prayers go out to the victims and the families victims affected by this preventable tragedy. The driver was a ****ing dummy in this case. Shame on him.
Is anyone else as annoyed as I am with the media when they are vilifying vehicles by name or style (SUV) in news stories? It did not matter in this case that he was driving a Subaru. In this particular story I can see some reason to mention that he hit a Ford Explorer and the occupant of that vehicle was seriously hurt...might make some people who drive large vehicles realize they are not immortal. But other than that, it is the operator that is usually the fault of the incident, not the particular vehicle they were driving. The press seems to try and demonize some vehicles and I am not sure of their exact motive...except in the case of the much maligned SUV that the devil himself created.
Pile on....there was also an article in star tribune last week about a driver who hit a kid downtown as he was attempting to get out of the area of what I believe was a Ferguson related demonstration where his car was getting beat on. They had to mention he was in a Subaru as well. I don't get it...
A teen with a turbocharge AWD car with alcohol will alway end badly. He has to be going 50+ to do that much damage.
For what it's worth, I don't think they're vilifying any brands by mentioning what they were driving. That being said, there aren't any winners in this case, even after the driver is sentenced. This could have happened to a sober driver as well who isn't paying attention or is driving recklessly on public roads. It's a reminder for everyone that poor decision making leads to consequences for everyone around you. There are few things on this planet that are worse than cutting people out of cars and listening to them screaming while you're doing it. Be careful out there, for yourselves and for everyone around you.
I have been noticing this too, seems like Subaru is the pit bull breed that the media will sometimes sensationalize..
It's just part of basic journalism. I know when I read about a car crash I want to know what kinds of cars were involved.
