    probably quicker than a WRX due to the weight difference and the gearing...and the whole no lag thing

    what did you spend the 3 grand on? The only thing he has that isnt very easily accessable is the P&P, otherwise he just has cams for internals which you can get reground from delta for like $150.

    Brullen catback, Cobb Equal Length Headers, Cobb CAI, N1 Light Pulley Set, Exedy Stage 1 clutch and flywheel, Cobb stage 1 driveline(bushings, tranny mount, short throw) I might be forgetting something but those add up to about 2900 and that's uninstalled with no shipping included.

    cobb=expensive

    now there a more options like OBX where catback and header is about $500. The Delta Came Regrind i think is like $70 per cam...there are just cheaper options now than there were before

    n/a 2.5s are unreliable, piston slap, head gaskets, rod bearings ect ect nuff said, wrx swap has about a billion % more potential. but a fast n/a is nothing to sneeze at

    Fast N/A is awesome. My RS's torque curve went straight up...it was rockstar until I hit 3rd gear. For the money though its tough to beat boost.

    i never have a large amount of money at any one point in time...so im just going to slowly build my NA. I know its never gonna be that fast, but i'm only in college. I have the rest of my life to have a faster car!

    ^^I'm rooting for you, man. Owning a N/A GC over other cars has its own benefits. At least you're not driving a Geo Metro or something else. Drive your GC for what it has and not for what it doesn't have.

    I miss my old GC for its hot body and simple layout, but I got a new car because I could afford a faster one, my GC packed 100000 miles on it, and I wanted slightly more room to carry groceries and the like. If I can get my hands on another GC for a low price, I'd kill for it. I'd kill something that won't fight back (like a plant).

    I don't know about you but i've never heard of soch having head gaskets issues at all. my current RS has 104k and it looks like they never worked on the head gaskets as well. But can't argue if you see them everyday at work. I guess mine is just a lucky one =D

    okay, come to MTK, i can point out 4 sohc's that are currently having headgaskets installed.....and one dohc, they dont blow internally, they BLOW externally. (though ive seen both) just ask subytek, or driftin240, they both have probably done them at least once this week. ask pete, your old car's head gaskets were shot at 20K ....but usually once they are replaced, they dont blow again, crappy stock gasket design. so you are both probably fine.

    IF you have an 00-01 make sure you get the coolant additive added so if or when if blow subaru will replace it for you.

    +1 My 01 blew a head gasket...needed the coolant additive. Subaru reimbursed me for it later.
