Not a very sweet video, but I made it in at 1:17. Not to get on my high horse, but I actually head engineer on that this year. Had a blast designing and 3D drawing all the features.
Yeah Bill, I dream about trails like that....that's my kind of mountain biking. I have to do that red bull ride next year. they need more stairs drops!!:yumyum:
Sweet, yo. I have ridden some of the trails on Mt. Seymour in North Van and they are really, really sick. Too bad I am not a great rider and am too much of a wuss to truly enjoy 'em. But my 10 ft. sideways header always brings a warm fuzzy feeling when I think about it. I remember hearing about the Skyway ride a few years ago. Is it still happening? If so I think I'll hafta be making a roadtrip. Ride on!
Last year was the last year for the Redbull Ride the Sky. Redbull doesn't run most of their events for more than two years. It has to do something with keeping whatever they did exclusive. It was actually pretty tough to get in it this year. You had to fill out an application for the event and then be one of the 50 that got to ride in it out of about the 100-150 that applied. It was a bicycle politics nightmare. curly2k3, who is your cousin that worked the event? If any of you want to go ride that big wooden step-up step-down (The Whale), it is planted at the end of the DH course in Memorial park in Redwing.

Actually my buddy busted his collar bone real bad right in front of me on the DH section. We had to cut the ride short due to that....
Let me know when you want to do it. I'll do my best to get out with you. Anybody big in to street riding? There is a filiming crew getting together on Sunday downtown/UofM Campus to go get some shots for a buddy's movie he is making. If anyone feels they have some cinema worthy skill, let me know.
cool. I'll PM you the next time we go. I'm still down with a cold, but might go tonight anyways.... street riding? Urban Assualt? :yumyum:
I da know what it is going to be exactly. The kid's name is Alex, he's coming down from Duluth to film some urban stuff. I don't really know what the film is for. He has made some films in the past for the MORC film festival, but I don't know about this one. We've been trying to think up some solid film spots around town, but nothing sweet has come up. There are some good size stunts you can do over in the ruins park behind the Guthrie, but thats about the only "cool" place I could think of to film. So, if you have anything crazy you want to try, I am sure Alex is up for filming your carnage
I know alot of good spots in the city. There is some cool terrain in hidden falls park, there is an old staircase that is pretty sweet in fort snelling and a couple hidden single track sections, good stuff by the old brick yard in st. paul along the river, some cool hills in marthaler park west st. paul...oh man..I want to go ride NOW I would suggest going to alot of the city parks to find terrain.
Thanks for the suggestions, but I don't know how mobile we are going to be with all the poeple and filming gear. I think the spots are going to have to be pretty close to downtown for us to hit them. Here is one place that I am kinda pumped about for a cool shot....
I'd be game for riding early Sunday afternoon (we head back to WI mid-afternoon Sunday) if anyone is thinking to do so. We leave tomorrow about 3 p.m. so I need to know by then so I can throw bikes in the back of the car. ... and I don't think that hillside will make a very good transition if yer hucking from the Gold Medal Flour sign... =D
