Lots of good wildlife in your area! I really enjoy the first one.. Just checking out what the camera was
So I got the camera up and running again. Then we had a very bizarre city wildlife experience. This spring, we have about 7-8 deer that are ALWAYS in the field. Only one is a buck (I am documenting it, he is going to be a BIG boy) and 1 was a pregnant doe. We noticed that the doe was always laying down and didn't move much. Lucky for us, she bedded down in a clearing in the trees so we could kinda watch her. She never moved (while we were around) for 3 days. On that sunday morning she was gone. Not a big deal, but we kinda thought that maybe she had a fawn. She looked like a cow she was so big, so we knew it was coming. So Chris goes out to get the morning paper and finds this in the our front yard. And then it just hung out. Probably 3-4 hours. We would go out and check on it every once in a while to make sure it was still alive and we were constantly watching to make sure it didn't wonder out into the street. For anyone that has been to me house, you know that very few people are even close to the 30mph speed limit and even less are paying attention while they are flying down the road. And just as fast as it showed up, it was gone. We had the windows and doors open, so we would have figured that we would have seen it walk away, but nothing. Completely vanished. We walked up and down the street to see if we could see it and make sure it didn't get hit by a car, but nothing. It was so odd since the moved from the yard to the driveway was a HUGE effort to make that it didn't seem possible for it to just jump up and take a hike. About 3 weeks later and no sign on the fawn we get this. It was such a relief to see that it did not end up as a hood ornament or lunch for the coyote (although still a fear). I will also start adding some pics of the buck. I have a feeling it is the same one from the OP. I have already got a few good shots of his rack as they are starting to come in. It looks like he is walking around with 2 huge sledge hammers on his head. Russ
Your neighborhood is infested with deer. I see deer running through the streets all the time when I drive through that area.
With all the little parks and field area, they have about as safe of a area to be in as you can get. They have all grown up with people around them, so we (the people) don't matter. Most of them you can damn near walk up to before they start moving away. So between the basically unlimited food supply and the overall safety, why go anywhere else. Russ
So our little fawn has grown up a bit. Our racoon count has also gone up. We still have the coyote. and the buck is making his return. I have some pretty decent stills of the buck that I will post up later. Russ
Lol to the "yard man," especially his expression while looking into the camera and how his head comes into the frame at an angle.
Not mine, but seeing the thread reminded me of a pic my buddy showed me. Showed me 6/7 pictures of the same one spread out over a couple weeks in the same area.
Not sure I'd want it regardless of my monetary position, that is the rapiest looking deer I've seen. Those eyes have to be photoshopped.
Time to start posting up some game camera captures again. I will be posting up a bunch of them over the next couple of days. This is one of our 2-3 bucks from this summer. Russ
Nope, no food. They have plenty of flowers and greens to eat. Once and a while we will throw some apples and such out in the field, but that is it.
Those two videos were great Russ! Couldn't help but LOL at the fawn flying back and forth across the yard and the "volunteer lense cleaner"! Hahaha! We have a couple that frequent our back yard. Makes me want camera also.
